Has anyone experienced night sweats with Sertraline?

I have been taking Sertraline for about 18 months now and I think it has helped me a lot. However, one thing I am now plagued with, which seems to have coinsided with when I started to take it, is night sweats.
I know that hot flushes are listed as a sdie effect, but this is FAR worse than this. I would say about 4-5 nights a week I wake up and I'm sweating so much it's like I've just got out of shower. It's totally gross!!!
My bedroom is not too warm and I don't feel too hot when I gp to bed. The Dr has done blood tests to see if anything abnormal shows up, but that's all OK.
I would be really interested to know if anyone else suffers with this. I don't want to come off it or change if it's nothing to do with the Sertraline, but it's become a real problem in my life!!!

Hi i sympathise with you I have been taking sertraline for over ten years now. I have suffered here is hot sweats day An night my GP an blood test stated it was menopause, an I excepted this. These sweats controlled my complete life I was changeing my clothes several times a day showers even in the middle of the night etc. Well I'm over the menopause an the sweats are worded than ever😫😫 the GPS won't except the sertaline was the cause ?? So now with the support of my GP I am reducing down my sertraline over 2 months imnow down to 50mg from 150mg an now my sweats are reduced by 75% an can not wait to get off of them completely but I truly no now it's the sertraline. I can't tell anyone what to do but not again. I will be put on something else as I suffer manic depression. Go luck x

My daughter was on them recently an she was suffering bad sweats she has stopped them now an much better so this encourage me to come off of them 😄 I will update when I have stopped them completely about 2 weeks

I wish I'd seen your post months ago... literally thought I was going mad!
Drs never mentioned it could be sertaline... and how I last month after having the dosage for a while have now stopped taking the meds as I felt better in myself, certainly more levels and guess what not one night of night sweats!!

yes, I started on 50mg, I am on week two and side effects are letting up a bit, but the first week it was awful! I am 50, but this only happened in my sleep, I would wake up feeling like I had the flu, soaking wet, nauseas, shaking...
I'm supposesd to up my dose to 100 next week, a bit nervous this is going to start all over again.

Hi katharine63063. I too have a big problem with sweating. But mine is during to the day. I can sweat in an air conditioned room. It comes and go for no reason. It can be embarrisoning when at public events. I don't know what to do about it.

i have been taking Sertraline for about 6 years. I noticed I was having hot flashes again and really bad at night !. I'm in my early 60's and I went through menopause several years ago and just couldn't figure out why I'm getting hot flashes again ??.

Yes it’s hard dealing with this night sweat
But I do have mood swings time to time
But I love the medicine the way it makes me feel..
