Has anyone experienced night sweats with Sertraline?

I have been taking Sertraline for about 18 months now and I think it has helped me a lot. However, one thing I am now plagued with, which seems to have coinsided with when I started to take it, is night sweats.
I know that hot flushes are listed as a sdie effect, but this is FAR worse than this. I would say about 4-5 nights a week I wake up and I'm sweating so much it's like I've just got out of shower. It's totally gross!!!
My bedroom is not too warm and I don't feel too hot when I gp to bed. The Dr has done blood tests to see if anything abnormal shows up, but that's all OK.
I would be really interested to know if anyone else suffers with this. I don't want to come off it or change if it's nothing to do with the Sertraline, but it's become a real problem in my life!!!
Here's hoping

I'm getting that as well, always my legs more than anywhere else. I've got a spare towel by the bed that I put under me if I wake up sweating in the night

Hey,
I've been on anti depressants for about 8 years now. Citalopram and Sertraline.
For the most part of taking Sertraline I have had night sweats, really badly.
I've been back and forth to the doctors about it as i initially thought it was a hormonal imbalance, and they get noticeably worse when i'm on my period. Blood tests came back all fine, though.
Started to reduce sertraline and the night sweats have decreased, but still happen when i'm on my period.
I have really vivid dreams and never wake up feeling 'rested'. Unsure if it is just my anxiety, or if it's been exacerbated by the sertraline vice-versa. Noticed if i am to have a panic attack, it happens at night also, when i wake up feeling hot and overwhelmed.
Trying to understand the link as doctors can't help any further.
Might switch anti-deps and see if that makes a difference.

I've been on Sertraline since last December starting at 50mg then up to 100mg ,I started sweating so badly so they split the dose to 50mg morning and 50mg at night. recently they increased it up to 150mg ,so 100mg at night and 50mg morning.
I get such vivid dreams every night, specifically revolving around my health anxieties.
the increased dose has affected my balance as well and I keep getting hot flushes. I'm a man by the way so no menopause. its like my core temperature goes through the roof then cools down briefly then spikes up like I've had a hot drink. They were considering putting me up to 200mg however this temperature thing spikes my anxiety. I've had blood tests done and they're all fine.
I've also had some weight loss on this drug.
its hard to know if this med works for my anxiety as the side effects spike my anxiety so its catch 22.
I'm pretty religious about when I take my meds so can confirm when the sweats start. it is horrible.

I had the sweats on 100mg they split the dose to 50mg morning and 50mg night and that helped a bit.
Now I'm on 100mg at night, 50mg morning and although I sleep well but with intense dreams
I spend the great majority of the day struggling to control my core temperature. its facial flushing and a lot of sweating. which in turn makes me anxious and makes it worse. so double edged sword

hi! i started taking sertraline/zoloft a few years ago. at first i had major focus, shortness of breath, clammy hands during the day time, and night sweats. this ALL went away after a month or two being on the medication. i even upped my dose to the max to combat panic attacks and the side effects were minimal. taking it at night caused some sleep issues at first so i switched to morning. a few years later i decided to stop taking the medication. i would get night sweats off the meds maybe 1-2 times a week, then fast forward a few weeks and a panic attack hit me so bad i thought i was going to suffocate myself from hyperventilating. so i got back on zoloft... thats when the night sweats came back and at full charge- like wow waking up in pools of sweat. i have a memory foam mattress and a down duvet with viscose cover on it... im going to stay on the medication and see if the side effects will go away like they did the first time i got on it... in the meantime ill try to change my bedding and clothes i wear to see if that helps. my point is, monitor ALL aspects of your life- the environment, medications and the times you take them... changes in diet... all of these can cause night sweats and can also be changed to make them go away over time...

Katherine63063, I have exactly the same problem on Sertraline. I'm only taking 100mg and my body and bed sheets are soaked nightly. Cool house and room... no hot flashes for years. * I'm 59.
So, I'm looking for another approach rather than SSRI. Good luck to you my dear!

Same here. I've been on it since 04/2021. Still having nights sweats in a cold room!!!! Drives me crazy. Dr said it should go away once my body get used to it but.... I don't see a light at the end of this tunnel. In the beginning, it was good, no sweats, then the sweats came, and they left for a week, and now they've been back.... It's just draining to have to get up in the middle of a slumber to dry and just for it to happen again.
