Has anyone had a biopsy for their LS?

Hi Ladies!

I was referred to Gynae recently and saw them 2 weeks ago re LS.  I was told I would have to have a biopsy.   The consultant I saw didn't even examine me!  I was actually in and out of that consultation room within 10 minutes.  So today I receive a telephone call from Admissions saying they were sorry they have only just received my referral and could I attend in the morning!!

Has anyone had a biopsy and did it make LS worse and what was the outcome; did they offer anything other than the Clob?

Thank you!

I know I’m a little late here, but ANY help would be appreciated! I’m 24 and just had a biopsy (holy cow, OUCH) and will get the results back within 2 weeks. I’m nervous and upset after researching this disease, and am worried about what problems this will cause for the rest of my life 😢 the biopsy I had is still bleeding 5 hours later, and the doctor recommended using soap and water and using Vaseline to clean it. Any tips on treating the biopsy spot or tips about how to go about this disease in the future? I’m so sorry you all have to deal with LS 😢

Hi tori, the best advice I can give you is read as much as you can about LS, become really informed because many doctors arent that knowledgeable.  If you look at some of the older threads from other women that should give you a lot to go on.  With regard to your biopsy spot I've never had one but I would probably wash it carefully and then apply the tiniest bit of cream/vaseline.

Hi..sorry you have had to go through a biopsy. After mine I was told to gently wash in warm water,no soap. No Clob ointment etc for at least a week.. difficult when all is inflamed.I've never used Vaseline,so unsure about using it(I use Emu oil to moisturise) Stitches take about a week to dissolve. Hope you feel more comfortable before too long.

I recently had a biopsy on two locations. Location 1 hurt when the numbing agent was injected. Location 2 was excruciating. When the biopsy was done location 1 was numb. Location 2 was the worst pain I have ever experienced. In addition, when it was stitched closed, I almost jumped off the table the pain was so intense. I think I have a high tolerance for pain but this was clearly over the top. I asked the doctor why there was such a difference between sides and he stated that the one side where I experienced the pain was inflamed. If I ever need another biopsy, I will consider general anesthesia. The recovery afterward was a breeze. I took one dose of ibuprofen and was good. Back to normal activities in 48 hours.
