Has anyone had success taking an antidepressant again after it stopped working a first time

i had great success on sertraline when I first took it but then had breakthrough anxiety and stopped it. I have restarted it now a year later. Can it work again? ANone have any luck with this.

    I would like to know also since I was on lexapro before but it kind of didnt work well anymore and started giving my dizziness. But if it could help, i would go back cause I feel miserable on zoloft...its not helping me anymore.

      Almost 10 weeks but feel soooo shaky, tired, almost depress at times, anxioux, no motivation, dont eat much, etc.

      At higher dose it gets worse and I have sometimes pain on my liver area.

      I was on meds for the last 11years.

      My doctor doesnt know what to give me anymore for my anxiety.

      The last one that helped was lexapro that I took for 3 years and suddendly started having bad dizziness on it a year an a half ago. I tried several after but still had that crazy dizziness or other side effects.

      Zoloft i took it couples years ago but now...I feel bad on it.

      So whats left for me??? Take nothing? That is scary!?

      In those past years...

      Effexor and pristiq....a big no!

      Zoloft was okay but not anymore

      Celexa

      Cymbalta

      Prozac

      Trintellix for a really short time

      Lexapro was my best

      I did a genetic test and it said that the one suppose to be good were

      Celexa

      Zoloft

      Lexapro

      Prozac

      But midly for cymbalta and Trintellix

      And all the rest is a big no for my metabolism type.

      Gene test for me best were  vibryd, trintellex, and devenlafaxine,

      they said low dose of Prozac ,which didn’t work. Lexapro didn’t work, so so on Effexsor.

      Yes I did a long time ago but no!

      Did you try the meds that the genes test said was good for you?

      One an old TCA called nortriptyline for 6 weeks made my pulse rate high and constipTion. Just stopped 2 weeks ago

      Well its been 6 days now and I feel anxious and really low. I have crying spells and this morning, I woke up really early, turning around in my bed, agitated, and a bit panicky.

      Since I stopped my med, i have those skipped heartbeats...it scares me but I think its rekate to withdrawal.

      I am scared it wont work or get worse but people around me keeps telling me its withdrawal and that I have to go through this.

      Hope it stops soon.

      Im low today and wish I could know how long it will last.

      Are you worse than you were on the Meds. How long were you on Effexsor or pristiq. Do you feel more anxious than you did on the meds

      I felt worse on med in the last year.

      But now its really different. With new symptoms.

      Effexor and pristiq are really bad for me and give me palpitations with high anxiety.

      Maybe a few weeks like 3 or 4 but had so much extrasystole and tachycardia from it so it was done for me.
