    Hi Lynn

Ive been on and off sertraline for a number of years and it has helped each time. Ive has a relapse and now taking 75  mg. it really is awful but remember you got through it before and will do again. I keep telling myself that. I like you feel awful now with anxiety, no appetite, can’t sleep etc. It really is horrid

My problem is I had breakthrough anxiety on it a year ago so don’t know if it will work again. Did you try any other ones

I’ve tried seroxat and felt awful heightened anxiety so they gave me amitryptiline 75 mg! I had a young baby and couldn’t get off the sofa. I was then given sertraline. I have stayed on them but forget to take a lot of the time. Have been taking them every day now for three weeks. I still get breakthrough anxiety, I’m not sure if there is any that will rid it completely. I think medication and willpower to try and stop overthinking. I’m overthinking and catasrophising everything at the moment. I will try and get to work on wed but I’m I keep getting all these negative scenarios, that’s part of it, it’s horrid isn’t it

Did you ever have breakthrough anxiety on an earlier try on sertraline and go off.

Yes I still get occasional anxiety when under stress and think oh no here we go again but have managed to talk myself out of it. This time tho I’m talking myself into it I think. It’s not easy, I feel exhausted.

No I get well and then forget to take it regularly and when I feel anxiety creeping back I remember to take it

Yes it does work but it takes time, you just have to stick with the side effects for a while which aren’t nice but I’m so glad I did because I was ready to give up, and I have been on sertraline  for many years. Good luck and try and ride it out 😊

So you went off sertraline because it stopped working and then tried again at a later time and it worked again.

No I have been on sertraline a long time 50 mg, but in may my anxiety came back with a bang. My doctor doubled my dose and I felt awful for at least 8 weeks, probably the worst I have ever felt, but I persevered and went up to 125mg which is where I am at the moment. 😊

I was on 50mg but they raised me fast up to 175 mg and had a breakdown and went of them trying 50 mgs 2 weeks in a13 months later hope it works.
