Has anyone taken 5 weeks or longer to feel better with Mirtazapine?

I have now been on Mirtazapine almost 5 weeks and I would like to know if anyone has taken longer than this for the 30 mg to work. It seems to be every other day that I feel fantastic and think this is it. Then the next day I get that awful feeling back again. Has anyone else had this experience with this drug. I am lucky in the fact that I do not have any of the side effects that I have read on the forum.

Yes try to stick with it, it took at least 4 to 5 weeks for me to start feeling better, a little longer to stop having bad days. I am feeling so much better now, I've been on a 30mg dose for nearly 12 weeks now. I never really feel down anymore, I still get anxiety about stuff though, but rarely and I'm not constantly on edge with anxiety like I was before starting mirtazapine.
Hope you start to feel better soon and stay better

I saw you haven't been feeling great whilst on your holiday. I would say it's most probably due to the wine. I tried a glass of wine one night and the next day I felt absolutely awful, I felt like I needed to recover the whole next day. Alcohol is also a depressant, so it's likely to make you feel bad. I don't drink any alcohol now, I have heard of people that do still drink though, but I decided it didn't make me feel good. Maybe you might be able to enjoy wine more when you are feeling a little better.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!
