Has anyone tried vaginal dilators?

If so what has been your experience? Has it helped with the narrowing of the vaginal opening? Has it made sex easier?

Hello elle, I was taking to my GP about this yesterday. You can get the from you Dr. I had a look on youtube and there are some videos on there about dilators, how to use them and the benefits. Others have said that it does work to open things up. I haven't tried them yet so can't comment personally but I have read enough to be convinced they are worth a go and should make a difference.

Hi there, Yes I have used them but not as regularly as I should have done. Ideally, it is best to use them at least every other day to keep things down there from getting too tight/small. I think someone once mentioned to use it in the shower and then you wont forget. It is rare that you will hear a doctor telling you this important snippet of information but its very very important if you want to continue to have a sex life, that's what I have found anyway.

Hi Elle,
?Dilation has helped me greatly. First it was to keep the small opening open with the smallest size and later it become routine twice a week. After my dilation procedure I had to do this on advise of my gyno. Ever increasing the size.
?What I could not have hoped for was the possibility of intercourse. But that's how far I got. It definitely helps to keep doing it, though less frequent now. Just twice a week. Can not do without it or all will narrow again.

Hanny, I am still unable to have intercourse. Due partly to the fact that I never used a dilator regularly, and now I cant get to the size I need. Maybe I need to step it up, I have been using it twice a week, but i hate doing it that's the problem. Also, the other problem for me is that my husband is super large and so i dont think its ever going to happen unless i have some kind of surgery. One other issue for me is the 'band' that I have at the front of my Vjay which is the main cause of pain.

Guppy, it took a long time. After my dilation procedure in the hospital, I started with doing it 6 times a day. It was really a day job. All just to keep a small opening, which also was important to be able to urinate. When I started rinsing with at first baking soda, because I was afraid of infection, you can imagine how I felt when the fusing started to withdraw every so gradually.
?I'm now doing it only twice a week, but I sometimes wonder whether it still should be more often. Every time I notice how it narrowed again and again. It will be a constant battle and sometimes I just don't want to do it anymore. But I must.

Not that awful, just time consuming. Regular intercourse won't help you. It's the regular dilation that keeps intercourse possible.
?You need to be careful with dilation. Intercourse/sex can grow uncontrolled and not replace dilation. But all my hard work did pay off in the end. Intercourse is possible in between the dilation sessions.

Do you prefer the silicone, GSR or hard plastic? Having trouble finding out what the pros or cons of each are.
Thank you for your help <3

Truthfully, I don't like any of them but they are a necessity... I just looked and the ones I bought are hard plastic and pink and cost 29.95 dollars..they do the job.

Guppy, I won't use the dilator in the shower. Would never get it in. I'm laying on my back in bed, have the dilator covered in coconut oil. Under me a piece of plastic on which three layers of paper towel to catch the oil.

I don't Hanny, I use it like you do but I'm over 50 lol!
That advice was for the younger girls that can manage it, but your right.
I went to the docs (Gyno) the other day to talk about that horrible band of skin at the entrance to my Vjay which is like a road block to sex!! I honestly know that while that is there I am always going to have problems.Pain. I asked about having that area cut, i think its called something like the Fenton Procedure. Anyway, she said my area between my butt and Vjay (perineum) was super short (of course it was) lol! and therefore it would be very tricky. I dunno, I'm 56 now and maybe I'm just not going to worry about sex anymore. I will have to see if this changes.

Okay. I'm 67 meanwhile. Probably had this problem for many, many years. It is for the first little while in a long time that I can actually feel my husband in a most comforting and exciting way. I know there is still that tight strip, but I try to stretch that as well and it starts to make a difference. I am not in favour of cutting at any time.
