Has my pre-op assessment today

I had 3 phials of blood taken, swabs of nostril and armpit, blood pressure and blood oxygen levels. The nurse also weighed and took height measurement. She showed me how to get onto and off of a bed and gave me a booklet about the operation, recovery in hospital and how to sit etc. She advised me to get a toilet riser and frame and to use a chair similar to that in which I was sat: upright, firm with arms, which we haven't got, so will see if we can find a secondhand one. I will need to wear TEDs, unfortunately and will leave the hospital with crutches. My op is on Monday and I'm not really looking forward to it.

Best think of the destination: a life without hip ache.
The TEDs are actually quite warm and comforting at this time of year. I left the hosiptal on crutches and it is amazing how kind people are when they see you coming.
I have bolsetered my sofa with pillows to ensure my bum sits quite high - thus my knees are lower than my hips,
