Has someone out there had success healing their LPR using Linx proceedure?

My LPR is getting worse. I have had it for years and pretty much lived with it by limiting my diet and my life. Anytime I do exercises that require speed walking fast, even crossing the street in traffic quickly I get pain in my chest (LPR spasm). I use homeopathic drops and natural stuff. When I tried reflux medicine PPIs etc. they made me feel so bad that I could not continue on them because of side effects. Tried all the different types. I have had this for 6-9 years and recently the LPR even with my limited life choices got worse. My DR. recommended Linx. After reading everyone's comments am not sure I want to chance doing procedure. Has anyone had a successful story and its been helpful? Are free of LPR or GERD?

Hi Kyla, I had the Linx device done almost 2 years ago this coming August and I can say it was the BEST decision I ever made.  It is a very very easy procedure and the only discomfort I had from the surgery was when they fill you will air to do the surgery.  The 5 or 6 incisions they make to do the surgery are almost painless and I took 2 days off work for the surgery.  I took one day for the procedure and another to recover and make sure everything was ok.  To be honest I could've went back to work the next day.  You exactly right about the PPI meds.  They are awful for you and I was on them for about 13 years since I was 17 and I had the surgery when I turned 30.  I couldn't go through life taking those meds and feeling like crap.  I also didn't want to go through life watching what I ate or drank every day.  It is a very easy and simple procedure and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  There are some cases when the device does move and they have to go back in and adjust it and I actually have to have them go back in myself but looking at all the surgeries doctors have done it is a very very small percentage of people that have that happen.  Even if they had to go back in 5 times I would have it done.  It is a life changer and if it would ever have to come out it's easy.  You might hear some people say you can never have and MRI done but that isn't the case.  You can have it done but it's a lower dose of imaging. You will get an implant card that tells you what to do if you need an MRI.  It says do not get any MRI exceeding 1.5 Tesla whatever that may mean.  I tell anyone that has reflux to look into getting the procedure.  Just fyi there is some testing to make sure you are able to have the surgery because not everyone qualifies for it.  Good luck and trust me I have done LOTS of research on it.  Best thing I ever did.
