I had my gallbladder removed on augest 28 2017. No I am not happy with it out because I having more problems with it out and what I was hoping it would help with it didn't.
I end with new problem. I think it related to gallbladder surgery however the doctor says it not however I don't have that problem becfor gallbladder surgery.

Hi, just wanted to let you know I had mine out a year ago and it took about 6 to 8 weeks before I could really eat anything "normal". My advice is to keep to a low fat, no junk diet from here on out. I only stuck to the diet for a couple months and then went back to eating crap. I am paying for it now and miserable so I am going back to eating right again. Hang in there, it does get better!!! (if you keep away from the junk for the most part!)

I had my scan that revealed I had gallbladder problems in January 2017. They told me my gallbladder was low functioning and had some stones. I got a denied surgery consult in July 2017. In February 2018 I started to get pain, had it confirmed that it was my gallbladder, had it out February 8th, 2018. I should add that I had my liver dumping bile since January 2017 and it got misdiagnosed as IBS. My suregon finally told me it was Bile Salt Diarrhea. I got told to eat low fat, but that did nothing to relieve my symptoms, I'm guessing because it still had fat in it. I live off of Cholestyramine and Immodium. It is no different then a year ago and I am just in no pain without my gallbladder, but am p****d at my liver that dumps bile all day and night like a madman. I drew of a day that my liver can stop dumping bile 24/7. I tried 6 small meals a day but my liver still dumps bile like mad.

Interestingly to me was they were not looking for a tumor in my gallbladder but found it kind of by accident on a side view of my liver. I was watching the screen and saw what looked like a little mushroom.
I had a cholecystectomy in mid December and everything has changed to the better. The tumor was benign and I now think that most of the pain I thought was my heart was my gallbladder because I longer have the bouts of odd pain or sensation.
I am on Plavix / asprin theraphy and the surgeon was comfortable doing the cholecystectomy while on was the blood thinners.
Currently, I feel really good. My cholecystectomy had very good results. I am still on a no meat diet with the exception of salmon and occasionally chicken breast. I have purposely lost 45 pounds. I try to exercise. I have noticed the few times that I do have beef or pork my body seems to experience a bit of inflammation which feels odd but not painful.
So put down as yes !!!

Well I'm glad I don't have pain anymore that's for sure! I had mine out about a year ago. Prior to surgery I ate whatever I wanted with the usual results, I had lots of attacks that were mis-diagnosed (they kept telling me I had gastritis!) until I finally had a scan which showed tons of stones and lots of leakage. So I had it removed and everything was great. I really had no problems and for a couple months I stuck to the low fat no crap diet I had been on and lost about 40 lbs overall. But then all my cravings for crap came back and I gave in, because I felt like I could eat whatever I wanted again because all my friends who'd had their gb's out said they could eat anything, so of course I could too, right? WRONG! It took a while but gradually things started happening. The worst has been the daily watery runs (sorry, tmi I know!) if I ate anything with too much fat, grease, etc. Pizza especially is bad. Then my skin problems came back, really bad hand excema, rash on my neck, my nails are super weak and brittle, my hair is all dried out and frizzy and looks terrible. I am anemic and require iron infusions now, pain where my gb was, extremely fatigued, no energy, depressed. I'm only 49 years old, a mom to 3, a wife, so I see myself as a "youthful 49" so it sucks to feel like this. So long story short, I am going back to eating the low fat, no crap diet. Oh and I gained back all my lost weight too. I guess it depends on how you look at this. Yes I could eat whatever I wanted prior to my GB removal, but i had pain, etc. Having it out forced me to eat properly and showed me how much better I could feel. I don't know if I had eaten properly and kept my GB if I wouldn't have had any more attacks. I wasn't willing to find out. And I still want to have that occasional treat now and again, like on special occasions. Yes I will pay for it, but I'm willing, LOL. But I don't want to eat like that all the time, so I will mainly stick to the diet and hopefully feel better. I don't know if I would have made the changes I needed to make had I not had it out, if that makes sense? For me I had to experience all that bad stuff to see how good it could be if you watch what you put inside of yourself. I also plan to eat partially gluten free and organic, so hopefully that will help too.
