Have any lichen sclerosis sufferers also got Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia?

I have recently been diagnosed with both - the LS first. But that could be because the FFA takes a while before one notices it is happening. I would be really interested to know if there is a link between these two auto immune deceases. I am struggling a bit as they are both quite depressing conditions.

Just to throw another spanner in the works.  I have been diagnosed with female pattern baldness.  I don't know if that is FFA but I have thinning hair on the front hairline.  I also have thinning hair on all other parts of my body - sparse eyebrows, genital hair, leg hair and underarm hair.  Recently I have been reading that statins are now suspected as being responsible for hair loss in patients.  My husband also takes them and he is also thinning and losing hair from all over. (He is covered in hair and his father had a full head of hair until death at 74.)  They are very alike and I was surprised to see him thinning.  I have also recently read that higher blood sugar counts are possible caused by statins, I am diabetic and my husband is borderline.  He has no diabetes in his family although I do, but that was my fathers side of the family and in all other aspects I take after my Mother's side and they do not suffer from diabetes.

I am left wondering if the statins that my doctor insist I need for my heart are actually causing me more problems than they are curing.  Is anyone else having this problem.

Hello Annabelle, I had to reply because I have FFA and I'm 73 yrs old. I lost my eyebrows three years ago and was diagnosed with FFA last year. In spite of being over 70 and over the hill, so to speak, I decided to get my eyebrows tattooed last year. Do not be afraid - it has made a huge difference to my confidence. As an artist, I was very careful applying make-up and spent too much time trying to make my eyebrows look perfect and real - however this was so easily spoiled in seconds by brushing my hair back and inadvertently erasing half an eyebrow! I found a lovely, talented girl in Glasgow who welcomed me to her clinic (ion spite of no glam photos to advertise her talent) and proceeded to transform my appearance by instinctively finding my original eyebrow shape and cleverly producing fine strokes of hair that stay put! That lovely lass did me a great service. My hair has receded sides, temples and behind my ears by 2.5 - 7 cms (the left side is worse than the right). I have no scarring, just bald skin where there used to be thick and healthy hair growth. Stay well and positive. Lots of Love

Hi, Meryl..as just recently diagnosed with FFA, although probably had for at least 5 years, eyebrows sparse and at least 1.5 inches of hair loss from the front of my hairline. Still undecided re medication route, or if I should go the wig and eyebrow tattoo way. As your response was 2 years ago) do you have any sage wisdom for a 58 year old, thanks Heather
