Hi Everyone
Just got my Hysterectomy sorted out, now going to sort out the eyes! Can anyone tell me how soon after having the op I can use eye makeup again please?

Thanks for getting back to me. Oh my god! 6 weeks without eye makeup,
oh well lets hope it is hot and sunny and I can hide behind shades! Still I suppose it is a small price to pay for having your eye fixed.
Thanks for the good wishes, how long ago did you have your op and is your eye as good as new?

Thanks for getting back to me. I am a bit confused, sorry, I do colour my hair, so do you mean not to colour my hair for 6 weeks? Luckily if that is the case I am having my hair coloured two days before the op, so that is good timing. Or do you mean I cannot use eye makeup for 6 weeks if I colour my hair? Sorry Gayle this op has me running scared so my brain is not working properly! I am an anesthetic type of girl, cannot imagine being awake for this at all!

I know it does sound crazy worrying about the external things when you are about to have what is to me 'a very big thing done to the eye'. But my lovely surgeon has explained the procedure very thoroughly to me and I trust him completely even though I am terrified at the thought of it. I love to be put out, not really into this awake thing but I have no choice on this! I know it does sound very lacking in seriousness the questions I am asking but as I am getting ready morning and night now and doing my cleaning routine I realise there must be a lot of do's and don'ts attached to cleaning near the eyes. The last thing I want to do is get an infection in the eye or mess the surgery up! Are you due to have a cataract removed?
Warmest Wishes

Gosh I cannot get over how brave you were to lay there for 2 hours. I hope your op was very successful.

Oh my word that is quite a dilemma you are facing . I do hope you get sorted very soon, especially as your eye op was so successful. I will cross everything for you. You seem to be in 'Catch 22 Land!'
I know you are right about the hysterectomy, and I was very lucky I sailed through it, no pain at all and felt very very well, so why I am so frightened of the cataract op does not make sense but then emotions very often are not sensible! Still the procedure is very quick so I will practice my yoga breathing and try not to have a melt down.
Aren't these forums wonderful. It is so lovely to meet people like yourself going through the different stages and get advice and support.
