Head Pressure 😴

Does anyone else get head pressure especially at the back and located just on one side?

I have been dizzy for months and getting bad head pressure on the left hand side at the back of my head and sometimes I get shooting pains to which they keep telling me is tension headaches and stress/anxiety, can't help but think it's something worse especially as I get the dizzyness to!

Anyone else feel like this?

I get the presure as well, but no pain.....  Once the pressure gets too bad, I go to the chiropractor and get an adjustment.  As soon as he cracks my neck, I instantly feel the pressure go away.

Yes Emma...when i had Labyrinthitis 5 years ago, i had pressure at the back of my head all the time. I used a hot pack to ease it. I got pains too. I have something similar now too but have not been diagnosed as yet. Do you have pressure in your ears? Or plugging?

It's awful I have been having physio for it and today I had accupuncture for the first time to see if that helps with the pressure and dizzyness, I just don't understand how it's got so bad and still have no answers, I struggle sometimes to focus even though I've had an eye test and all is fine, my bloods & bp are fine to but it's so deliberating feeling like this, I just want to wake up in the morning without having to hold on to something or to go out with my family knowing I'm not going to have an attack of the dizzy spells or my head isn't going to feel heavy 😢

Yeah, I know that feeling, its just like torture... I checked almost everything that could cause dizziness, every test is good, been to 4 neurologists, still dont know what i have, and when i will feel good again

I know we shouldn't but I do have a good look on the Internet to see if I can see anything but it could be so many things from serious to not so, I'm hoping it's not serious and they will find something that's treatable, I'm off tomorrow to have a heart monitor fitted for 24hrs to see if it's a heart issue, I have a second ent app in a few weeks to see if they can find anything that's causing it and waiting to see a neurologist to see if he's any ideas, I had a ct scan I'm June and that was all clear but think I need and mri, I'm guessing you are still none the wiser as to why it's happening? Have u tired meds at all? X

Im just like you, searched all kinds of things on internet, that could or not could be, im worried all time too, because of not knowing whats going on.

Let me know how the test goes and how your feeling.

Same for me, I had head CT scan ( i think i need MRI) plus i had MRI neck scan, all good there.

I tried all kinds of medication. Betaserc for 2 months, Cerebrolysyn injections, Adaptol, Medrol, Vitamins and nothing helped.

Now im on Noofen and fezam.

Neurologist thinks its central vertigo, whats causing it still have no idea. Im like this now for 2 months, its just hard...

What medication you tried? Or maybe some therapys?

I tried a few I can't remember there names apart from the one I had a reaction to which was betahistamine, I'm taking regular anxiety meds which are propanranol and sertraline and wondered at first if it could be one of these but it was there long before I started on them, I know the docs are doing all they can to help but nothing is quick it takes months to get an appointment with a specialist by that time I'm feeling worse (if that's possible)? My hole body has also started twitching when I get into bed at night so I worry about that to, I know I need to try to switch off and give my brain a break as that's probably doing us no good but when your worried about something it's really hard to concentrate on something else x

Im taking anxiety meds now too.

I know what you mean, its just frustrating, waiting so long for appointment, i waited quite while too, but still i dont know what i have.

I checked eveything, eyes, ears, nose, throat, neck blood flow, hearth, blood test, MRI, CT, been to physiotherapist, massages, pearl baths.

But i still wanna do head MRI.

I get all kind of fellings, pain in hearth, hard to breathe, something stuck in throat, chills, weakness, feelling sick, headaches (at beggining), just all types of scary feellings, like im going insane and just weird...

      Have you experienced this?

Your not the only one trust me, I get heart pulpertations, horrendous dizzy spells, sweats, shakes, numbness in my face, pressure in the back of my head, headaches, the list is endless, I've had a scan on my heart today echocardiogram and I'm wearing a monitor for 24hrs and have to keep a diary of all my symptoms to see if it's my heart causing all these other things, I don't think it is but you never know, I also get a pain in my left ear and i have tmj, I sound like a right hypochondriac don't I but things just seem to escalate from one thing to another!

      How are you feeling today?

I guess its all + anxiety and stress that makes us feel even worse.

Yeah its like circle, jumping from one thing to another, thats frustrating...

Today, well so so, dizziness is all time changing, then better, then worse and all time like this.

How are you feeling today? What are you planning to do next?

I absolutely agree. My anxiety shot through the roof. Especially when I was told there was no problem and yet I was black and blue all over from falling. My work was urging me to take a medical leave but my doc wouldn't sign off on it. The depression became so intense, I couldn't see my way through the day let alone the next 15 minutes. It was probably about the darkest I have ever been. I am lucky in that I found a great combination of specialists who know each other and who have been working together for my benefit.

Hi Emma. A low dose of Valium when the dizziness got to be too much was the medication that worked for me. I  took Dramamine at first but it didn't do enough. The Valium acted as a vestibular suppressant and shut down the part of the brain that gets signals from the ear. I didn't use it every day since it can be addictive. It helped get me to the point where I could do the physical therapy that eventually has helped.

Hi Mary, thank you for your reply, it just getting me down now, I just want to be able to do normal things I have a 4yr old and a 7 month old baby and it's not fair on them, I have been told that maybe a chiropractor might be able to help as it might be a posture thing as I get a lot of headaches to, I was taking diazepam for a little while but because of the addiction it's not a long term solution which I'm guessing is the same as vallium? I'm having physio and accupuncture to see if that relieves some tension in my neck then in turn helping headaches and dizzyness, I was also told I'm seriously dehydrated which I know can also have an effect on all of the above! It's just a bit or a merrygoround at the mo as one doctor says this the other says that just doesn't seem to be any consistency and maybe I will maybe I won't get the answers I am after but as long as the worst is ruled out I will have to find a way of coping like we all do x
