HEADACHE; ALL DAY, EVERYDAY, Help Appreciated

Hello all, i have come to this site in search of an answer to a seemingly impossible question. After seeing multiple doctors, a ENT, a nuerologist and now doing the rounds of physio and chiropracture i still have no clue on what i seem to be suffering with. Three months ago, after a day or two of feeling like i have had a cold, i woke up with intense pressure in the head. At first the thought of meningitis or a tumor/aneurysm came to mind due to the 24/7 intense pain. But after a MRI, CT and CTA scan it was ruled out. The nuerologist just did a reflex test and looked at the MRI which was already confirmed normal and told me to just see how it goes. The goes with the doctors, because all my tests have come back normal they classify me as a worry wart or i have anxiety but i am just a realist. I have constant pain in my head and face, tightness in the neck, ears need to pop all the time and body aches especially with the legs and lower back pain although i am not sure if my lower pack pain is a seperate issue or not as a i am a nurse and my job applies alot of pressure to that region. I am not letting the doctors fob me off to walk away with a "mystery illness" as i have told them im just gonna keep coming back till they find out whats wrong. Ive also had a chest x ray, blood work done, a urea breathing test, an ultrasound of my heart and lungs, a test for STDs and all have come back normal. I just have no idea where to go from here? if anybody has a clue on where to go, i would appreciate more than ever some input. Thank you smile

Sorry to hear that my friend ... I also have the same issue and had it since last year. I’ve done so many tests same as you I’ve done MRI, CT, EEG, So many blood tests, STD check, Dentist Work such as wisdoms out and change of fillings to white instead of metal fillings, Chest x Ray, a lot of EKG’s, ENT they did an endoscopy on me, Went to eye doctor too.  Everything came back normal.. this journey is annoying. One of my latest doctors I went to was an Allergist turns out I am allergic to multiple things such as ragweed, pet dander, rats and some others.. I’ve started medication about a month and half ago of nasal spray and nasal rinse and an allergy pill every day. My allergist told me it’ll take some time to have symptoms relieved. Maybe try an allergist it could help get some answers. Cause I also have the pressure on temple, frontal head, nasal cavity and dizziness and ringing in ear. Check an allergist or check TMJ from a dentist. Pressure can resonate from so many things it’s hard to tell what the cause is..

    Good Luck.

I hope you find relief soon mate, i might look into allergies as i havent had them tested since i was very young. Ya know its more so the fact that i miss being able to go out with my mates and to travel, im a 22 year old that feels like im stuck in a 70 year old body i sleep nearly most or half the day, working zonks me out to the point of no return. Seeing the doctor again to try and see i can get them to explore more avenues, thank you. Get well soon.

    Hey Matthew,

I also suffer from Chronic Headaches, all day every day. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia around 4 months ago. I had chronic pain in my body ( all four quadrants) and all my blood work, MRI and CT scans showed absolutely nothing. I started taking Lyrica for Fibro and it worked on the headaches and Body Pain but recently ( 10 days ago) the shoulder neck and headache came back. So I am back to where I started off.

Initially, doctor blamed Low Vitamin D, Low B12, Low Iron for the headaches, but even these figures are in normal range now. Now doctor is advising me to take Amitriptyline starting tomorrow, I hope it helps.

Hey sorry for the late reply. So i started amitriptyline and it helped for a bit but now headaches are back. Plus the muscle spasms, buzzing like feeling all over body, especially when i am at rest, is back. I have started magnesium supplements along with vitamin D ( it went back to super low again). I also have pain around the eye ( neurotis kinda thing). Still on 300 mg of lyrica, 25 mg amitriptyline and the blood thinner eliquis.

Hey, funnily enough I was also in the same boat as you. Constant pain from headaches 24/7, for years! All clear scans/tests, etc. I definitely agree with a recent commenter, go to the dentist and get them to check for TMJ pain, I get this on top of my chronic tension headaches. These headaches can cause the tightness in your head/neck/face, if you haven't already I wouldn't rule out those!

    Good luck

Thanks guys, i hope you all find a field of relief soon. My headaches have their days when they become dull and then they'll flare up but what always remains is a certain feeling like my head is covered in something/pressure, eye pain and tightness thoroughout my neck and jawline and cheekbones. Also a sinus-like feeling in my nose as if its stuffy all the time aswell as ear fullness. My doctors are providing a reluctancy with every test they give me i dont know if its because im 22 and they think im overreacting or its a money issue but i am fighting to get prompt response from any doctor i have seen. I just want to rule out the nasty things so i can come to terms with this condition or whatever it may seem to be, like fibromyalgia. They want me to take antidepressants but i am reluctant to do so. Worried about any side effects that may occur. Also i dont know if my smoking plays an active role in this, i smoke about half a packet and am trying to quit but i guess the gnawing stress of whats going on gets to me sometimes. They dont consider that i have a job to hold, as well all do. i hope you all find a relief for this and ill endeavour to find the cause of this, not just for me, but for everyone. Not letting this get me down.

Have you been checked for lyme disease?
    • Posted

No i have not. This is one of the avenues i want to look into, saw the dr again - no action, just given a inflammatory and said that ill recieve more help from a specialist. That annoys me because i know he has well within his power to look further into this. I have a tight feeling in my face and throat and jawline, not painful or constricting just a sense of tightness especially when i stand up and move my neck around. Its like im always wearing a heavy beard.

hey cool beans, i find hot water, lakes, the sea, streams and having a fun time helps, try to get out, not to exercise necessarily but try to enjoy yourself, just manage it, i accept there is no cure or relief only management
