Headache, dizziness, and neck pain

Has anyone else experienced weekly headaches that just seem to last no matter how much sleep you get or water you drink? I also have neck pain in which I have already seen both chiropractor and physical therapist for. When I have these headaches, I feel pressure behind my ways so intense I can't stand bright lights. On top of all this I am dizzy, however, my balance is totally fine. I have already been to an ENT specialist and had an MRI, etc. Only thing I haven't moved onto is a neurologist because I already am racking up my medical bills and yes I have health insurance but a crappy one at that! Please help. Has anyone else been experiencing this and if so, what did you do to rid it?
Much appreciated!

I just followed JayJay21's advice about the Sternoclidomastiod Muscle and after over a month of dizziness/vertigo, nausea, headache, pain in the back of my head/neck, eye/head pressure and being in a fague I can honestly say I'm feeling a little bit of relief. I think it will take a few more days but I'm confident that things are looking up. If any others suffer from an anxiety disorder you know that your body tenses up terribly and you have a hard time getting those muscles to relax. After reading about this muscle it is one of those muscles that tense and can cause all of these symptoms. So strange! I also have whiplash and have worked on a computer every day so my posture is horrible. That all contributes to my issues. I'm hoping this is my dream come true and I can start feeling like myself again. These quick and easy massages/exercises are simple. It won't hurt you to do them so look them up online and if it gives you some relief, think of all of the money you're saving in Dr. bills! There's quite a bit of info out there so look at it all.

Same here, after over a year of headaches/dizziness/vertigo etc, I have been doing some stretches for the Sternocleidomastoid muscle on JayJay21's advice and there is a noticable improvment. I have only done the stretches for about 7 days, but I've been mostly pain free during that time.
I'm still feeling an inability to "relax" and have a contant dizziness that I am attributing to anxiety that I've developed during the past year. Like you, I am really hoping by continuing the stretches I can back to feeling like my old self.
It would be great if you could share the specific massages/stretches you're using so I can compare. Thanks.

Mostly I've been massaging the muscle, squeezing it to find the trigger points and holding for about 30 seconds. You know you've found a trigger point if you experience pain. Make sure to follow down the whole muscle from behind the ear all the way into the collarbone and clavical (there are actually two muscles). Don't squeeze or massage too hard or it ends up causing you additional pain. I also take a tennis ball and roll it back and forth across the muscle. Of course like all things it'll get worse before it gets better but the dizziness is mostly gone and that was disrupting my life. Good luck!

Thank you both for replying. Chris28488, how are your headaches? The stretches have since helped the dizziness/vertigo but I am now starting to experience headaches again - which after a period of no headaches is just horrible! Did you experience this also (ie. you mentioned "it'll get worse before it gets better)? Thanks so much!

Yes, the headache in the back of my neck/head has flaired up again but it has been getting better. Those muscles have been tight for so long that I guess this is my body's reaction to loosening them up. I'd take the headache over the dizziness though.

For about 1 1/2 years I had neck pain and tension headaches. I had them almost everyday and it was hard to think. Masages helped. Sleeping with a rolled up towel under my neck helped. I finally solved my problem when I went on a "diet" and started eating mostly whole foods. The problem with my neck was basically inflammation from the foods I was eating. For me the trigger foods were gluten and soy. Good luck.

Thank you Tiny2010. What did you do because I am facing exactly the same problem, I am not facing major spinning of head but a mild focus shift, like I cannot stare my files on laptop while working on numbers in excel file (I am an accountant and I am 28). bright lights or just lights directly contacting my eyes irritate me. sometimes I feel my heart beat like at the back of my head while walking it seems every step hits like i am stomping. I am scared I hope there is no nerve stuck in between my vertebrae column. I use to do cracking from back, I may have lifted heavy weight during gym while doing thigh exercise. I don't know, don't wanna tell mom because she will be depressed too. I am going to contact neurologist on my own. I think I should get MRI done before hand.
