At the moment i am suffering from health anxiety to which the physical sensations are making me anxious about having a heart attack, even though i have had medical reassurance that everything is fine. I also suffer from panic attacks as a result which affects my everyday life. I am really eager to get rid of this as it is affecting me quite badly, what are the best ways and methods to get rid of this?

    Hi Alex,

just to reassure you it is very very common for anxiety sufferers to have this feeling. I have been there had chest pains and even the numbness in the arm, worked myself up into a right state and went to A&E where I was given a clean bill of health. I felt a right prat and that just made me more anxious. As I say to many go see your GP and get your anxiety and panic attacks on record, they may even prescribe you medication and if they do (probably an anti anxiety med like Sertraline) be advised that they will take several weeks 2-8 to take full effect and they do come with side effects but we can help you with that. Also start some self help like mindfullness I can give you a link if you like, meditation or self hypnosis to help manage your anxiety. Finally I recomment starting a journal/diary not only will it help you by putting your feelings and emotions on paper but it will also help you spot patterns and help you provide information to your GP. I hope this helps please stay in touch and stay strong, we are here for you and know you have the strength to help you on your journey.

    1. NEVER apologize for feeling guilty you suffer from anxiety. its a sickness!! Many of us have had anxiety attacks.

A week ago i was in traffic driving a car! Had an attack and could barely hold myself together only because i had a child in the car! Otherwise i think i would have pulled over and just allowed myself to pass out. My doctor has prescribed Quetiapine which works really great for me, but if your talking about taking minutes last second or in the moment, only xanyx has worked for me, but my doctor does not prescribe Xanyx anymore in the area i live in. NOPE nada.

Submerge your face in freezing cold water, sounds silly but it over powers the area of your brain that's giving you the anxiety. It should help.
