heart paliptations and feeling weak after simple tasks

Posted , 11 users are following.

Just literally changed my bed covers and done a spot of hoovering and I feel absolutely shattered, my chest feels weird (in the way it does when I'm about to have a panic attack) I feel like my hearts really thudding but my heart rate is at about 87bpm currently. I feel like I want to cry I'm so scared.

I did have a bad night resulting in about 4 hours sleep. Could this all just be my anxiety playing up due to lack of sleep?

I too am having the bad nights sleep waking up all the time and contemplating simple tasks drives my anxiety into the ozone. I cry at the drop of a hat. I am taking only Ativan which doesnt touch this 24/7 hell. I see my doc tomorrow and am going to ask him for Cymbalta which is about the only one I havent tried. Good luck and reply to me at any time. You have people on here that  have had what you have and worse. Ken

So I had my doctors appointment today. It didn't go great I must admit. I was told it's 'just' anxiety and not to worry. Told to keep taking my sertraline and just relax. it's all stuff I already knew.

On a better note. I got some rescue remedy vikki. It so far has worked a treat! As soon as I've felt anxious or a panic attack building intake a spray and it just eases off so thank you for your advice.

Went and got myself some anxiety help books today too. I will beat this.

      Dear Kerrianne.

It sounds like you just got told what you already know.

I am pleased about the resue remedy I have never tried it myself I may take a look at that.

Like the idea of the books I have found them to be of some help and have just ordered a new one called stop thinking and start living. Let me know how your books go and if you would recommend any of them.

Have you considered any form of counselling?

Do you fell any comfort from the GP visit?

      Speak soon Christine

Thanks Christine, yeah I feel I just got told everything I already know.

I was shocked by the rescue remedy I had my first panic free night last night for the first time in a long time! I got the spray it was £8 but we'll worth it.

I've just started managing anxiety with cbt for dummies so I will let you know how I get on if you haven't already read that one.

I had some counselling years ago when I first suffered with panic attacks. It was a good release but I never really got anything back from it. It was nice to get everything off my chest without being judged though.

      How are you feeling?

I had my first full day back at work for 6 weeks today and I can really feel the difference.

I think that I can say I am generally happier but still having intrusive thoughts which is the thing that nakes me tearful and upset.

I am better than I was though.

I am so pleased to hear that you have had some relief from the turmoil. I cannot think of any other way to describe health anxities and phobias can you?

Works a funny one, one Side of me wants to hide away from everyone and be alone but i tend to think about things too much but work is hard and tiring trying to remain professional but feeling so worried inside.

The intrusive thoughts are horrible and definitely a big part of what trigger everything off for me too. Are you back at work full time?

      Turmoil sums it up completely

I'm so glad the rescue remedy worked for u like it did for me!! When did u start the sertraline and what mg did u start on. I can't believe your doc said (JUST) anxiety!!!! Obviously they have never been through it or known anyone close to them go through it. I'm on 5 weeks 2 days now and yesterday and today I have felt good and today has been anxiety free which feels so good, I know I have a long way to go but at least I am now seeing good days, and u will to. At least u r well on your way to feeling how u want to feel, and a book I got was by Claire weeks which I highly recommend. Keep in touch of how u r doing and I will do the same, take care, think positive and take every day as it comes x

I'm sorry about how your feeling!

I hope you feel better soon.

I've been having heart palpitations and I would start to feel choked up before the heart palpitation and I would feel extremely tired and weak and when all this happen I would think to my self this could be my last day from whats happening to me. I did have have a horrible event happen to me I lost my baby when I was 5 month pregnant and also I stayed at the ICU because I had a bad infection. I told my self this heart palpitation has been happening to me because of what I went threw. I did go to a doctor and the doctor gave me anxiety pills which do not help, but when I would have the palpitation I try to calm my self down and I try to control my breathing by inhaling from my nose and stay 5 second and let it out from my mouth it helps when I do this a couple of times while my palpitation happen and alway tell your self there's nothing wrong with you and that your okay because when you let your self become scared you panic more i know that this happen out of your control, but you need to be strong if this happens more then once just try to forget about everything. It's good to have a great support system and laugh watch shows that are funny. This could be anxiety that your dealing with if your doctor says everything is okay with you.
