I am having constant heart palpitations all day long. I wake up to it as soon as i move heart palpitates and hot flash. This stuff is literally getting to me. I just want a break thats all.

I visit cardiologist months ago and heart was fine but during that time my thyroid was hyper, then i went again it was hypo, then again normal.

Anyone else having heart palpitations constantly?

Since no period this month it seem it has gotten worse ..

Chrisann, it definately could be my magnesium. I was on magnesium and recently ran out a few weeks ago. I need to get back on them. Last checked the end of April my range was on the upper side, could it have gone down so quickly?

Hi Mary google magnesium sometimes low magnesium can be the cause and especially if you have thyroid trouble . Maybe need to look up your blood results or go on a forum called  health unlocked , sometimes your thyroid can cause heart palpitations if your medication isn’t right

Hi Clare..last year my thyroid results was a bit off within two to three weeks of testing. But endocrinologist said it was nothing to worry about. Moving forward, thyroid has been normal each blood results and Ive had many. I have a hiatal hernia (gerd) also, sometimes i think its contributing to.my palpitations. Then I was told that it could be my adrenals, hyper adrenals. Whatever it is everything is triggeing it, whether i sit, lie down, wake up, eat, drink, etc. It is very frustrating. 😓

Hi Mary, question, what are the symptoms of a hypo/hyper thyroid? What does it feel like?

I notice a feeling of food trapped in my throat, I feel kind of funny/acidic , then I eat and it subsides

I have this too Karen. I suspect it’s stress. My jaw and neck muscles get very tight. Google TMJ disorder. If I make my jaw relax it helps. I notice this feeling most when I’m about to cry. Weird, I know! I’m tearful lately over just about anything, but it starts with that lump in the throat feeling. I think it’s based in anxiety

Hi Karen..When I did bloodwork and it was hyper, my whole body seemed hyperstimulated , such as shaking hands, trembling, frequent urination , frequent bowel moves, unable to sleep, heart palps, hungry but weigh loss, wired up and unable to settle down. When it was hypo, i was very tired and fatigue, constipated, no energy at all. But it hasnt tested that since that was last year during the beginning of peri. All bloodwork shows normal thyroid now, but im having

these symptoms that just won't let up. I did a nutrition response test a few weeks ago and my thyroid tested off balance. My nutritionist believes that my whole thyroid and the whole endocrine system is imbalanced.

Right now for the past month I've been having symptoms of hyper something , adrenals, thyroid..I dont know.

I used to have them very bad. I'd wake up with my pulse racing, and when I'd take my bp it was always normal but my heart rate was like a 99 or 100. It lasted quite a while, maybe about a year, and then it went away.

Suzanne, this is about how long I've dealing with it about a year now. However, it seems to disappear or lessen up when I get a period or for some other unlnown reason. Bu this has been the most severe and longest time. I just want all of this to stop..its so difficult to function daily. I have been waking up to this every morning for over a year. Could the palps be anxiety?

Anxiety can make it worse, but the palpitations are a symptom of menopause. Mine get worse with stress, fatigue or after I have anything more than 1 drink.  It’s a good idea to get checked by a cardiologist. Once you hear that your heart is fine you won’t be as anxious over the palpitations. I take a low dose of metoprolol for SVT and this has helped the palpitations too.

Hi Terri, I ve already been checked by cardiologist and everything was fine. He also prescribed the same meds I tried it but stopped. It affected my blood pressure, brought it down to low. I dont think it was good for me.

I worry about the same thing Mary. My BP was slightly elevated / like 135-40/85. The 50mg metoprolol has it at 115/80 on average. Heart rate is usually in the 50/60’s range. Sometime it dips to high 40s. I have a follow up with cardiologist today. Wondering if that’s too low and I should switch to 25 msg. I tried to do that twice since last appt and both times I had terrible heart-racing panic attacks about 2 Days after the switch. HR shot up to 120. I think the beta blocker is helping anxiety and the lower dose is less effective. Could be I need to give it more than 2 days.
