Hi rachel , sorry to hear . But , palpitations can be a cause of many things , and yes from even the prozac .more likely though its your nerves ... Try not to worry , your ECG is only a few days away , in the meantime , do things to keep your mind off of it . You will be ok .... Update us . Also palpitations can come from vitamin deficiency , are you deficient ?

thank u il definitely update. I'm not too sure about the deficiency maybe I am could probably get that checked. I had a blood test done last year and it showed up that my thyroid levels were on the way down. but checked again a few weeks later and they were fine .maybe it could b that.? yeah thank god I don't have to wait for long thank u so much for replying xx

If you can feel your heart skipping a beat its more likely that you're just getting anxiety palpatations, you'll be okay the ecg is soon, you're in control, just surround yourself with people who make you feel safe in the meantime, tell them you're worried about your heart and they can look out for you.

Hey rachel. so i was having palpatations and turns out they are pvcs. i had a heart echo done which came back ok but my holter monitor came back showing pvcs which is a benign arythmia. to help with the symptoms im taking a heart med but i still have them sometimes. i struggle with heart problem anxiety alot. here lately ive just been trying to ignore the symptoms and go on with life. its hard. there are nights i lay awake feeling really sick and thinking im dying but im still here. so that means most of my issues are anxiety related. hang in there.

      HELLO

I have struggled with heart anxiety for years and still do everyday. Each pain I get is scary!! Last winter my DR? did an ekg. it showed a silent heart attack. I went bonkers!! AS it turned out his machine was old and needed a battery. also the nurse had put some of the electrodes on upside down!! Needless to say I changed DRS.!!!! Nearly a year later and Istill cant get back on my feet emotionally. Iam frightened all the time. These DRS.. have no empathy or understanding for people like us. Ithink they enjoy watching how upset we get.

    Hi Rachel

ive recently been getting Palpitations, skipped beats since October...

i had a 24 hr ECG and they picked up on ectopics beats which is essentially the heart beating slightly earlier than normal sometimes ehich gives the feeling of a skipped beat but what happens is that the beat after the early one is just stronger which you feel more.

ectopics are quite common and benign. many peoole have them and dont know but people with health anxiety can be more tuned in yo feeling them as you can be hyper aware when youbhave anxiety

i managed to settle my ectopics by doing a few things, which i dint know which helped...

    magnesium supplement

stopped my recently adopted healthy diet... i think i might have been having too little sugar and salt when trying to be healthy

drinking more water to stay hydrated

put on a little weight, that i had previously lost too quickly

now i get the odd palpitation every few days or so and nothing like i used to, which was 50 plus a day at one point.

let the doctors assess you and until then there is nothing you can do, so just try to stop worrying. if there is something that needs dealing with then you are getting it done and if its ectopics then there are things you can try.

    take care of yourself x

    youre welcome Rachel...

i hope you get some answers, as ive learned thst the unknown is what fuels anxiety and the outcome is often less scary than what are minds are capable of thinking it is.

whatever it is Rachel, and im sure its going to be ok, there are ways to tackle.

Everyone has a few ectopic heartbeats a day, but most people don't notice them. They are fine as long as you have normal sinus rhythm. They are either PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) or PACs (premature atrial contractions).

Try searching for 'the man with 20000 pvcs' on youtube.
