Heavy headed, feeling woozy and off balance

I started off with dizziness and sickness I couldn't even walk without falling over. Now I'm constantly heave headed and feeling woozy snd off balance when I walk or stand up. When I lie down its heavy on my head too and I feel sickly. I've been to ent and they say it's nothing to do with my ear although I have got tinitus in m6 right ear and hearing loss for 3 years now. I'm waiting for an appointment with the nurologist in 3 weeks time. I just want something to be done im really fed up and on sick from work. HELP anyone?

I have had pretty much the same symptoms.  Mine started 2 months ago with vertigo and then for about a week I had trouble walking.  Since then, I have pain in my sinuses, but there is no infection and my head feels heavy and my ears ring.  It feels like my head is going to explode at times.  The ENT think there may be an infection somewhere in my sinus/ear tubes.  So, I'm trying to get a CT Scan, but waiting on the insurance company to approve so I can set the appointment.  If this shows nothing, I have to go to a neurologist and most likely get an MRI.

I'm just mentally and phsically drained from all this.

It's awful I can't even make myself anything to eat or struggle to make a drink. I'm falling apart in only 29 years old. It's just such a long waiting game with nhs they should get you through the appointments quicker with it been an emergency. I just want answers and to know what's wrong with me!

Interesting . Ive also got dizzyness and pain in my sinuses. I had a mri scan which showed a large nasal polypop/cyst but everyone Ive asked says this isnt the cause of the dizzyness but might explain the nasal pain.

Thanks Paul.  I would have thought it was a sinus infection but there is no drainage or anything.  They did a scope but didn't see anything.  I have also been running a fever, so she is pretty sure there is something going on.  I hope the CT Scan will show something.  I wonder if it could be a cyst.  This will sound weird but my sinuses hurt really bad when I talk, the vibration of my own damn voice hurts it.

Sometimes infections with the sinuses are hard to clear up. Ive taken a course of antibiotics and have am using a steriod noise stray to try and get rid of the cyst but nether seem to be tackling the soreness Im feeling . I also have no drainage or runny noise or anything like that. Along with my constant dizzyness its a real pain.

Wow, now I really wonder if we have the same thing.  Hopefully I'll know more later this week.  I find as long as I take Musinex D (it seems to help with the pressure) I don't get that horrible dizzy feeling.

I know, I'm terrified of getting dizzy again.  It is the worst thing I have ever experienced.  I know what you mean, the waiting to get in with the doctor takes so long.  I just want answers too.  I've missed a lot of work over this.

Good luck at your appointment.  So sorry you have to wait 3 weeks.  It just isn't fair.  I'm hoping to get my scan Wednesday or Thursday, so maybe I'll finally have some anwers.

Hey Michelle I suffered almost the same thing too. I felt like my whole right side was tense . Thankfully the neurologist helped me out and have me an antidepressant. First one didn't work out but then he switched me to another for nerve pain and it is slowly going away. You have to be patient with this .. Maybe it is all mental but you will improve!

    Best of luck,

    Itsa

Michelle please read my reply to Michelle ! I see this so often and misdiagnosed as you think a Nerologist is correct - they are not if they didn't send you to see a specialst in vertigo / vestibular

Hi Tina and Michelle  - welcome to the world of the dizzies ! Just a tip make sure all doctors you see are specialst in their field not just a ENT but a specialst in vertigo and that counting for the Nerologist ! Is this doctor a specialst in the filed of vertigo ??????? There are number of reason why your dizzy but knowledge is power so study , study as much as you can and be one step in front of your doctor ! MRI is a must but once they see your in the clear it could be a vestibular issue ! I have BPPV and a little MAV  - I couldn't leave the house for 5 months and developed aniexity as a side line - like who want to end up like this all your life right??? Anyways they over looked the vertigo and said I had aniexity and should see a head shrink - long story short my physio specialised in Vertigo related systems and rang my doctor to send me to a vertigo specialst and skipped the rest! I'm back working a few days a week stumble around like a drunk some days but I'm getting back on track - I can't express how it's so important to see a vestibular specialst if things don't improve and Google, Google Google

Michelle I was exactly the same and couldn't understand what was happening - this site helped me out a lot and you can sort out what is good information ! I hate seeing people like this is I've walked that path on my own as no one understood  except the people who experience this - just remember vistibular issues are the top 10 missed diagnosed  conditions in the medical field and we have to be ahead of them - good luck and Google , Google , Google ! Just a footnote I became anxious , photophobic and nausious with every bout of attack - this doesn't mean it will happen to you but your not going mad if it does just remember that !

Thanks a lot. It's nice to talk to people who are going through similar experiences. I hate going through this I just hope it comes to a stop soon and I can carry on living my life properly. I try thinking positive but then wake up the next day feel exactly the same. My neck is sore and it hurts to turn it and go dizzy doing it. I can't pick stuff off the floor without going dizzy. It's the most awful experience I've even been through.
