Hello there

Been following this group for a few weeks now and decided to jump in. I had bunion surgery, hammertoe, plantar fasciitis and tarsal tunnel release, all on the right foot on Feb 26. Have done really well except for falling twice and putting a lot of pressure on my foot trying to keep from falling. I am approaching week three and actually have more pain now than I did at first. Sutures are out, thank goodness and I am still no-weight bearing. I see the surgeon Friday and will probably go into a post surgical boot. I keep thinking I should be further along but I have to consider I had four procedures on one little foot! I am 63 years old and it is not easy getting around. Hubby rented me a knee walker and that really has been a big help. Happy healing to all!

Bob so sorry to hear about your friend, that is hard, especially as you are feeling low yourself, but yous you say, you will get better, this will pass. Wish you would give up your exercise for 1 week and let yourself heal. please please, just one week. Tomorrow will be better.
Anita lovely to hear all your news, hope your moms visit was good and she enjoyed it. Glad you found some Crocs, i only wore mine about 2 weeks, need to find another use for them, hanging baskets for the garden or something.
Rena, not had time to go to the gym since Thursday but the grandkids were giving me a work out instead.
Patricia your outdoor bed looks brill lucky you getting nice enough weather to get good use out of it. Today we had a nice sunny day, but tomorrow back to clouds, och us scottish people are right hardy. (tough)
I had a lovely lunch on Friday, steak sandwich followed with a stack of pancakes with bananas and chocolate and syrup and ice cream, then I will complain at my diet class that I am not losing weight.
Wondering how I will ever get the time to return to work, I am far too busy doing 'things' every day, how did i manage it all before, the cooking, cleaning, working, also getting time to update the forum and facebook. So even if I dont update often I will still be popping in to read about all your progress.
Have a lovely day - its Saturday night here for me, hope I can talk my other half into taking a trip to the seaside tomorrow.
Look after yourselves,

Been a hard 5 days. I will be glad when this is over. At the moment I have to grind it out a day at a time. Pain is a 7. Most of my day is spent on the couch. Have the knee scooter going again. Another tough hurdle in life.
ANITAGIRL. - Glad you had a good time with mom and you are bouncing back. I knew you could do it. Proud of you. Hopefully you get some walking in. Little bit at a time.
SPICEGIRL MEL - Sounds like you were in the place called the ZONE. That peaceful place that we would love to be 24/7. So nice to be in that place and thanks for thinking of me. Cool thing. Hope you get rid of that bump. Maybe a shot of cortizone?
JOAN - So glad you are recovering well and spending time with your grandbabies. Lifes joy's. When are you getting your other foot done? Second time around is a charm. LOL.
RENA - Hope u are doing well.
Miss all of you. The " Bunion Babes'' rock!!!!! Have a great day.

Rena...I hear you on that darn hammertoe! Mine gives me a fit too. Still can't get the toe all the way on the ground. I'm still working on the darn thing though.
I have had a horrible past week with pain. I don't know if I ever told you all but I have a connective tissue disease called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I have a combo of types I,II and III. It is not pleasant at times. This is one of those times. Everything I have hurts!!!! My foot is really flared up now too. I guess from so much walking and time on it. I rarely elevate or ice anymore and I sometimes wonder if I should take the time to do that. I am at week 13 day 4. The incisions from the plantars fasciiitis and tarsal tunnel are also bothering me. I just try to change shoes often, which seems to offer some relief and keep on going about my day. Today, my daughter, my two granddaughters and I are going to Richmond to shop for our dresses for the wedding. It is about a 1-1/2 hour drive there. I am going to the stores I want first that way if I poop out and need to sit down, I'll find a nice bench to rest and read my book while they go on and finish up. Right now, I find my Fit Flops are the best thing for my foot. I don't think he was kidding about that 1 year recovery!
My grandson was scheduled to be transferred out to California after he returns from his honeymoom and now that is off! We are all so excited that he will be stationed here about 6 hours from us!!
Hope everyone else has a great day. Get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather as it won't be long before we are stuff inside again for months at a time!!

Just had a lovely weekend away at our daughter's in Stratford upon Avon. According to the pedometer on her 'phone, we walked about 5 miles around the town yesterday. To be honest, it felt further! I'm not limping so badly, but every step hurts. Oh well, two more weeks then I'll be off on holiday, hoorah!
Lovely warm day here today, after returning from Stratford this morning we went straight to a Morris Dancing 'gig' at a local Wool Fair (I'm still not dancing yet) then home for some gardening.
Been reading all the posts
Joan- well done with the exercising. I think I'll get my bike out- I need to do more moving.
Bob, sad to hear of the loss of your friend. Will you be able to attend the funeral? Hope your pain is well under control now, as Joan says, give yourself some rest time to help with the healing at first.
be,- a second operationon the same foot?? Quite daunting, especially as it was unexpected and when you're already healing well.
Rena, Well done with the walking. Can't you really pick up a towel with your good foot?
Mel, Anita, Patricia and everyone else- hope you're all doing well
I've got a busy 2 weeks ahead of me. Apart from work, I've got to get stuff ready for our holiday, hold a barbeque for friends and family, go to Morris events, RAF band practices and 2 gigs, and help my student son sort things for his last minute decision to go on a Camp America placing to New York. He's in London at university and is not very organised! He leaves in 2 weeks, oh dear!

Morning. Been a hard 5 days. Have my first Drs. appointment today. Assuming he will change the bandage and i'll be on my way. Weather is really getting nice now. Going to make an attempt to see my mom at the nursing home. She has been a wreck and I haven't been much of a help this week for her.
Been doing my indoor, home excersise program, Ab crunches, pushup and dumbell routine. Hope I don't get scolded by the 'Bunion Babes'' for not laying still.
Shout out to ANITAGIRL, JENNY, KIM, RENA, JOAN, PATRICIA, SPICE GIRL MEL. Hope you all are all feeling better and making progress everyday.
As they always say '' KEEP YOUR HEAD UP KID ''
Love to you all!!!!!

A funny thing happened when we first got there. Went into Nordstroms and my daughter and I took several dresses into the dressing room together. I had just stripped off my white capris and was slipping into a lovely dress when my daughter got this look of horror on her face and said "MOM, what is that on the seat of your pants"! I looked at them drapped across the chair and the rear of my pants looked like someone had taken a big poo! It was a huge glob of chocolate positioned in the perfect spot! We then got to laughing as we were horrified that I had walked into the high end store and shopped through all those fancy dresses with a salesgirl behind my every step, with a poo-imposter on my arse!! Imagine what people thought! We laughed about that all day. My granddaughters particularly thought it was hysterical. We really did have a great day. Oh, and Cheesecake Factorys pineapple upside down cheesecake is over the moon good. I came home with no dress..
