SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

My partner has been diagnosed with HSV2 in the genitals. He has never had an external break out with sores but ever since he has been diagnosed 7 weeks ago he has constant itching around is anus and all down the insides of the inner legs (especially where the underwear line is), ball aches (just one ball at a time), tingling pains like shards of glass under his skin all throughout his anus, balls, penis and inner thighs. Some days are better than others and he can get thru the day. Other days he cant even bear to sit or walk. Its gotten so bad now he cant even touch his penis! some days the inside of his penis burns and it feels like there is still urin left inside. other days his ball aches so bad that a stabbing pain goes up into his stomach, it is dapilitating he cant even concentrate at work. a minute cant pass without something hurting.

He has tried  a full courase of valtrex for 10 days and nothing helped. he tried no meds and it seemed to get a bit worse. he tried a d ouble does of valtrex for a week and no change.

He is so depressed and worried about it because nothing changes and he hurts badly every day. he has changed as a person and i am reaching out for any leads or help. I have suggested to him to be in valtrex for a much longer term period but he doesnt think it will help as he felt nothing before when he was ona double dose...

where else can i start?

thank you!!!

    Hello Sophie,

When you first get herpes it can be painful cause aches pains tingles, and generally be uncomfortable, the good news is this will pass, sorry I don't have a time frame as to when it will happen but Ive had it 5 years and at first I used to get leg/bum/thigh pains constantly where it was hard to walk, now I never get that anymore so I do know for sure they can go away over time.

Poor guy it must be hell, I can't say take this and it will definately work but I can give you some ideas of what to try to ease his discomfort, right so he has no sores at all, but he has itching, so on the external areas he is itching tell him to get some tea tree oil (good quality 100% pure) and apply (as many times as desired thru the day) it to the area undiluted with a cotton ball, only use the cotton once never re-dip it. This might sting but it stops the itching for me so it might work on him too.

I stoped getting outbreaks/symptoms of herpes by eating a large chunk/ring of fresh pineapple everyday, or by drinking non-concentrated pineapple juice (I even eat it dried sometimes from the supermarket, recently and it still works for me) so try that for at least a week to see if that helps at all.

If you can get some virgin cold pressed organic coconut oil he can apply that to affected areas and also eat a good couple of tablespoons a day that can also alleviate symptoms.

Try either the pineapple or the coconut oil first, not together to see which one if any works for him.

Also do your research on the internet, eating certain foods and drinks will trigger the symptoms and tell him NOT to stress, as stressing out lowers your immune system and leads to more symptoms, I know its easier said than done but tell him to be positive.

Whne he bathes or showers get him to dry his man parts/bum with a hair dryer on low heat setting, if the area is dry its less likely to be itchy than if he leaves it wet or towel drys, plus he doesn't want to spread it around even tho he has no sores the virus is still present and can shed at any time.

Other people may come along and give you more good advice hopefully some men out there who can help a little more than me.

Please let us know how he gets on and if any of these tips help him at all.

    All the best.

    Mandy smile

The valtrex absolutely will help taking it for daily suppressive therapy. He sounds like he is experiencing neuropathy. Which I had severe neuropathy a week after my primary ob and had to go to the ER. The only thing that takes neuropathy away, is nerve pain meds, such as neurontin or lyrics. I was on it for about 3 weeks total, so I could wean off it. When I tried not contibuing daily therapy I started experiencing nerve pain again.

I eventually kept taking valtrex daily and now I don't have any burning pain 6 months later. Because he stops taking valtrex when this co tinues, his viral load stays high in his system and jt co tibues. He's likely going to need to be on 1000mlgs daily for some time.

I was experiencing breakouts in 500mlgs a day about ondw or twice a month, but they don't hurt at all. Just some mild sensitivity while being on valtrex. But I bad lots of funny nerve stuff, like tingkig, or creepy crawly sensations that make u itch it and it goes away, hence why I started taking 1000 daily, which it had decreased significantly since.

I definitely have obs even on meds when stressed, lack of sleep and if I go out drinking late.. That's the biggest one. Caffeine and sweet foods are triggers. I don't know what his diet is, but cutting sugar and caffeine I would highly recommend. Have him start taking lysine 3000mlgs a day, 3xs daily dose vitamin c, pineapple daily, stay away from starches, they increase inflammation in the system, use a cotton ball to blot all natural TWA tree oil on his penis.. Bactine numbing spray may help as well. For itching, hydrocortisone will help some. What helped the most for me w itching especially, was long hot baths w Epsom salt.

Oh believe me, I was in excruciating pain. I couldn't sit up for two weeks. My tailbone was on fire. I work from home and still couldn't work, cause I couldn't sit up. Regular narcotics will do nothing for nerve pain, has to be nerve pain meds. You'll feel some relief when you first start them, but it does have to build up in your system and as time goes on, you'll feel less and less. It was bareable w some discomfort in like two days, but not much. After a week on it, I started working out again i believe.

Be prepares for doctors not to believe that he is experiencing nerve pain from herpes. They are very ignorant to this it seems, as it is not as common and they're old school theory is it is herpes sister that causes nerve pain, but not herpes. Not true at all. I found lots of forums w people stating they are experiencing neuralgia from genital herpes and medical literature after some serious digging that it is true. If they give you a hard time, just google neuropathy and/or neuralgia from hsv 2 and show them.

I feel like if I stopped taking valtrex, that when the virus comes at me full blown again, that I'm likely to experience this again.

I will admit, there were some side effects I had on the neurontin, but the pain was far worse so it was worth it, but I definitely didn't feel myself on it

thank you so so much! it is such a relief to hear that someone else out there believes that he has nerve issues from herpes, I cant count the number of doctors we have tried to give us with controling the herpes but none of them believe it is herpes!

neither of us know how we got it, I had an outbreak a month beefore him but before we had been together neither of us had anny OBs so it is a myystery and heartache to both of us sad

how long were you on neurontin for?

Lol... It's crazy, because during that time in my life, it felt like everything was in slow motion. Life couldn't move fast enough for me, but I swear to you, after my pain was alleviated, my life has been on triple fast forward since then.. So very strange. So w that said, it is hard to go back and remember exact time. I'd say I probably was on the meds max a month... Or maybe more. Mind you, I continued talking valtrex for daily therapy and still do to this day. If I was on it longer than a month, jt was because I was weaning from the daily dose.. Do possibly two months. Such a blur at this time. I'd say I was on kt for 3 weeks for pain and the next couple was for warning off it. You can't just quit it cold turkey. It was worth it though believe me. I considered it a miracle drug and was kissing the bottle.. Lol...I've had some serious pain, accidents and surgeries in my life and nerve pain is no joke. One of the worst you can deal w. So I understand what you are going through.

Sounds like you virtually have had very little symptoms. You are one of the lucky. Just follow what I said, tell him to stop be stubborn w daily therapy and don't take a doctors word for it. You've no idea how screwed I'd be if i did multiple times on my life nobody has your own best interest but yourself. Educate yourself....keep me abreast

I'm really sorry about your partner.  It sounds like he is in a lot of discomfort.  The only thing I could suggest is maybe have him start using a penis health creme.  These are made to treat all sorts of skin issues down there.  And while it won't cure him of his HSV2, it may provide some relief from the itching.  Good luck.

If you or someone you know has experienced these genital symptoms, I have found the cure!

Symmetrical redness on scrotum, tingling/itching feeling, random testicle pain, hair follicles on scrotum are raised, scrotum droopier than normal.

I dealt with these symptoms for over six months after traveling to Mexico, Honduras, and Belize. When I got back and saw a dermatologist he said it DEFNITELY was not herpes (no boils or sores) and he misdiagnosed it as contact dermatitis. He prescribed me steroid cream that did more harm than good. Finally, after scouring the internet I found a testimony very similar to mine.

After trying everything from dipping my balls in vinegar to assaulting my nuts with baby powder I finally used the dandruff shampoo Nizoral. After washing my genitals once, a day with Nizoral the symptoms finally started receding! My testicles FINALLY returned to normal skin color instead of a fiery red color. This pesky rash caused me an enormous amount of stress and I am relieved to say I finally found this treatment that works! If you have experienced these symptoms, please try Nizoral dandruff shampoo and spread the word!! (I saw two doctors who had NO IDEA what it was or what to do. Self-treatment for the win! This condition seems to be unrecognized by most doctors. Once you try this treatment and see that it works please spread the word around the internet. People deserve access to this useful information.)

Hello Keith, How many days or weeks did it take to clear up for you after washing your nuts with Nizoral once per day?

Maybe we should find what is the active ingradient in this shampoo

I can't see how this drug could help you if suffer systems caused by HSV. It would certainly help if you had a yeast infection or something like that.
