Hi,

please help me!

This rash/soreness came out a couple of days ago. It started itching (but nothing out of the ordinary) and I scratched more than I should have because it became more itchy but still super bearable. I didn't put anything on. That night , I worked out and then didnt take my sweaty clothes off right away... So while sleeping the itchiness got HORRIBLE. I had a hard time sleeping, because of scratching and didn't have anything at home to calm it down. in the morning I went to the pharmacy and got vagisil. ive been using it for 2 days now. Also while masturbating I've been using a menthol lube (can this give me a reaction?)

Today my vulva looks like in the pic. I don't know if it is a regular fungal infection or herpes. I'm scared, please help me!

*havent had sex for 12 days

  • DON'T feel any flu-like symptoms
  • DON'T have swollen glands anywhere
  • It is very uncomfortably itchy if I don't put cream on

THANKS ,

    Hello,

This doesnt seem like herpes, It sounds more like a fungal infection. The fact that the itching got worst because you didnt remove your sweaty clothes is very indicative of a fungal infection. Have you observed any unusual discharge?

About the menthol lubricant, menthol is not good for such sensitive tissue, it technically damages it, making you more prone to develop other infections.

    General recommendation

    1. Visit your GYN for a general check up
    2. Try not to wear very occlusive clothing
    3. If your at the gym, try and take a shower at the gym, if this is not possible, than at home to prevent moisture from building up
    4. No menthol Lubricant, no lotions, no douching.
    5. Keep using Vagisil if its helping you with the itching

    Hope this helps!
