Help needed on health risks...

My Father has been on Zoplicone for 15 years (a long time i know) and has just recently found that he has a brain tumor.
I have searched the internet for information about side effects associated with the drug, and thought that a site like this would be the one most useful to gain personal experiences about anyone who has heard anything about a possible link between Zoplicone and tumors of any kind?
Many thanks, i would be really grateful for your replies, as i know would he be

This isn't the first time I've read about zopiclone and the risk of cancer
Now let's look at all the scaremongering in the media about certain foods eaten in larger quantities than they now say are safe causing cancer.
If the truth be known, they haven't a clue as of yet exactly what does cause cancer. They say we all have it but in some people something like a virus can cause it to become active.
Personally, I'd ignore anything you read on wikipedia or other sites like it. None of it has been proved though a reliable source and also think about it.... if it had been a proven cause of cancer do you seriously think they would still prescribe it? just imagine the huge amount of money that could be claimed through compensation.
I'm sorry to hear of your father's tumour but there is no scientific proof that it has been caused by Zopiclone or any other drug for that matter.
Does he or has he ever smoked? Has he been around smokers throughout his life?
I know when a loved one finds out they have cancer we look for someone or something to blame - I did when my dad found out he had lung cancer as did all the family.
Sadly though, until there can be 100% proof what actually causes cancer in some people, we will continue to blame drugs, food types etc.
I'd personally (from my own experience) concentrate on being their for your father, whatever caused it, it isn't going to make any difference and as I said, would they seriously precribe something that is proven to cause cancer? No, I don't think so. So whether you read it on wikipedia or anywhere else, this does not mean it is true.
Wishing your father a full recovery (I have heard many successful stories of brain tumours being removed)
