Herpers or just an infected folliculitis?

Hi! I just got swabbed and just wating for my herpes test. My ob says it really look like herpes amd have me antiviral meds. Still hoping that this is not herpes 😓

Thank you! Gonna visit my OBgyne today and have it test. I hope this is just a kind of yeast infection or anything.. This is my 1st time having these 😭 I've been sexually inactive for 10yrs. I just met my bf 3 mos ago😢 he said he doesn't have like these before. If this is herpes, where did I get these 😭😭😭

its super that you will get them tested, and hopefully you can relax after seeing a professional until the results are in! i also hope that its just a yeast infection, ive heard that a yeast infection can cause lesions if there is a cut in the skin, like from a razor, but this was from internet and not a real doctor, but im just thinking of other posibilities. i keep my fingers crossed for you!!

if the partner never had herpes before, the chanses are low its herpes i would say. But its super hard to know 😦 i am wondering the same thing and its no fun

Just went to my OBGyne she had me swab and get tested for herpes as that was she suspected. Results will be in 4 days. She gave me prescription tho, acyclovir and mefenamic. She said, the pain im experiencing while peeing is because it was in the opening of my urethra and now discharging with pus. She advised me to take it for 3 days and if it doesn't subside or improve, we will shift into different meds (antibiotics) as it might be gonorrhea or some kind of bacteria in origin. My Md asked abt the status of my partner if he hv these kind of sore. I said i already asked and the ans is no, i asked if that's possible that i am the onlyone who have symptoms, she said yes, and if the results come back positive, he should take meds too. Will update this thread.

Okay! I Hope the prescription helps. Does that mean that he doenst have to have it, like an outbreak rn, or he doesnt have to have symptoms to have it?

He has it but he just doesn't have the symptoms, like a carrier. I'll be back on Saturday for the results, still hoping it's not herpes. I started on my meds today so it should be improved by the 3rd day, but if not, my doc said we gonna switch meds, more on antibiotic.. Hope we both get negative results, when will get yours?

Im still in too much pain right now. I guess the meds haven't kicked in yet. How abt u? Do u still hv the sores? Thia really driving me crazy.it really hurts a lot.

i feel you!!! The pain is brutal and the worst!!:'( . I still have sores, i have 15 of them on my outer labia and a few- looks like 5-6, on my anal area but i think they start to get better. it hurts like a mf when i pee or.. poop. And when im not on the bathroom i feel like its a burning feeling, almost like its itching. I got some painkilling-gel presctipted yesterday which helps a lot when going to the bathroom or when its itching. i think its called Xylocain gel. And i also got valaciclovir pills which i have been taking since friday, im not noticing a big difference with the pills, but it calms my mind taking them hehe.

something that helps for the pain other then the gel is too pee in the bath or shower, it hurts less even if getting water on them is also hurting, but it hurts less. and painkillers!! if it hurts really bad i shower the sores in cold water, i have not yet dared to put ice on them but ive heard that it helps too. im also spedning my days just laying in bed or the sofa, letting the sores breathe.

I feel you so much this sucks!! but hang in there and i hope the pain gets better for you!

Its okay to be down and its understandable, its no fun when it comes to the private parts. But try to focus on you and take time for you and try not to stress, and its okay to be sad and to be down. i am that aswell, but if it is herpes, ive heard that the first time is worst and it might not even comeback or even that often. I think having at partner to go trough that with is a big help.

But! it might not even be herpes for you! so focus on healing the sores, take your time and to manage the pain. And remember that whatever it is, it will go away, the pain will not be like this forever! there is light in the tunnel even if it dosent feel like it rn

Just wondering, did you notice new bumps even you started wd acyclovir? I just took my 2nd dose of meds today and notice new bumps in my inner thigh

Yeah i did, a few. It started with 5 sores on friday, then i immediately started taking the meds, and after that it came like 10 new until day 4. And now on day 5 days i havent noticed any new bumps or sores. Today the sores are even starting to heal and get smaller again

I take 500mg x2 of "valaciclovir mylan", i will take it for maximum 10 days.

Same with me, just a diff dosage, im taking acyclovir 400mg and mefenamic 200mg 3x a day for 10 days. I think the outbreak started last saturday amd I started taking meds just yesterday 😕 i hope we both heal fast
