i found these spots because i was self inspecting, i have a skin condition called hidradenitis and it makes me have breakouts and boils on my inner thighs so i thought nothing of it. but recently (almost 2 months ago) a guy i was seeing went down on me and a few days ago he came up with sores on his mouth. i havent seen him in 2 months but is it possible i have herpes

if he has mouth sores hsv1 he could of caught it off anyone his mum could have had it kissed him on lips as a child and passed it on alot of people have hsv1 and dont have any breakouts in there lifetime so they dont even know they have it an some people have breakouts all the time stress can bring on a break out or if already ill with a virus or something like that sometimes theres no reason for breakouts

hey i have a question i just got diagnozed with hsv1 and my partner came out negative for it.. but we both negative for genital herpes.. i just wanted to ask if you and your partner stop having oral sex so it dont spread down there or is it still okay for oral sex?? Just curious since you mention you and your partner have it maybe you have more information because this whole thing scary/ confusing.

so many people have it, even when you dont have symptoms it can still spread. best case is to never touch private parts when you have an active infection. you can also take anti-virals to lower the shedding of the virus.

is it okay to touch private areas while not having an active infection but still carry hsv 1? or just best to avoid it and be on the safe side... what kinda anti virals are recommended to lower the shredding of virus??

You definitely can still have sex and touch while it is not active. My partner and I both have hsv1 and we have sex and do oral as long as neither of us has an active infection. And neither of us has obtained genital herpes either.
