Is this a herpes lesion? I've already went and gotten tested for it and I'm waiting on the results but I'm FREAKING OUT I feel like my world is about to crumble down around me

Hard to say for sure. Could be herpes, but could also be something else. Hope the test was a lesion swab and not a blood test, by the way.

Yes, it was a swab test. How long does it usually take? I got it done Wednesday and tempted to call today..slightly freaking out

That's good you had the correct test done. Depending on the type of swab test (pcr vs viral culture) and clinic (public vs private), it could take anywhere between a couple of days to a week or so.

    That's what mine looked like

But I had more than one

I hear it's rare for there just to be one

How many did you have? What were your symptoms?

      I had about 4/5 maybe?

I didn't get symptoms I wasn't ill or have flu symptoms with mine

I wasn't in excruciating pain or anything like that it just felt a bit sore when I weed but not painful enough to make me cry and when I walked I could just tell it was there

      That was about it really

based on the photo it appears to be a singular abscess.. is (or was) there white pus or discharge? burning? or just sore. Herpes lesions will present as a cluster of fluid (usually clear) filled blisters but will typically be absent of pus excluding any secondary infection. Too me its more reminicent of a furuncle then herpes and a review of your sexual history and testing will probably reveal that its not.. As one poster pointed out its quite rare for it to manifest as just one bump. I hope your doing ok though

I had vagina discharge. The sore burns when I get urine on it. I tried squeezing it. But nothing came out

Actually, herpes can be a single lesion, and even if not, they do not need to be clustered, plus the fluid-filled stage can be easily missed. So, I would try not to speculate one way or the other, but just wait for your results and hope that it's something else. If you haven't had any risky encounters in the last couple of weeks and this is the first time you've had such a sore, then there's a good chance that it's not herpes. Good luck!

Unfortunately self speculation is something you are unable to avoid because its scary, I can understand that. As I previously stated its rare for it to manifest as a singluar bump. If you are in good communication with your sexual partner(s) you could also simply ask them if they have herpes if you are feeling beyond tormented. But waiting for the results of the testing should prove a quick and reliable conclusion. I do hope you are doing ok besides...though everyones pain is unique, this will not stop you from enjoying and continuing your life no matter what the result.

Have you had an sexual encounters recently ??

Could be herpes .. self diagnosis is the worst type .

If it is herpes everything will be just fine

& if it isn't count your blessings and be thankful that you missed a bullet.

Yeah the waiting is honestly killlllling me. I've communicated with my past sexual partner and he stated he was getting checked this coming Monday. But I should have my results by then... everything I searched has lead me back to this. So I'm sure everyone can understand my worry..

Also. I started valtrex and have found no relief... at all..

Depends when you started the meds. If started late, it doesn't have as much impact.

Well guys, I had a discussion with my last sexual partner and he is having symptoms of herpes as well... so it's not looking good on my end. My results were suppose to be in yesterday but weren't...I don't think I'm upset... just disappointed and have a pretty disgusted feeling about myself

.... You should just wait for your results before anything.

If you do have it then everything will be okay .. God wouldn't put you through it if he didn't think you could get through it.

Herpes ain't nothing but a skin condition that comes and goes .

Where did this come from ?

If you weren't sexually active with anyone else ., that means he was ? Unprotected at that 😭

Luckily, I'm very good friends with my ex still, even after our break up... we had a discussion on the last time both of us had been checked.. and neither one of us have ever had symptoms before (I know some doctors won't check unless you have shown symptoms before) we both agreed that neither one of us knows where it came from, because I've read that it can lay dormant in your body. So who honestly knows.... I know I should wait until I get my results back.. but the suspense!!!!
