Hi about to try a little experiment on lichen planus and lichen sclorosis

I have lichen sclorosis and lichen planus of the vulva. I have had this for about 14 years. Dermovate is not the best control medication although it is just about all there is. My symptoms are at present full blown. My dermatologist is thinking oral steroids..I am not thinking that way at all. I have had a look at the 48 hour fast idea which is thought to reset the immune system. You have to do this one twice a year. I am going to give this a shot in September so anyone who wants to join me on this give me a shout cause I could do with the support. Also there is a new study on tumeric and oral lichen planus(mucus membranes) Apparently in clinical trials the oral lichen planus cleared in 6 weeks using a topical turmeric ointment which was specially prepared. However the intment did make the patients very sore during the 6 week process.  If the fasting does not work then I guess it is to the kitchen for me with a lot of tumeric root. You can find all of this on this net just put in 48 hour fast resets the immune system or tumeric heals oral lichen planus. We can but try, hope, and try again..maybe this can work.

    Dear Sky

Many thanks for starting off this whole thread about prolongued Fasting. It led me to do lots of research on the Internet into the latest scientific work on this topic. It has been extremely interesting. I have now completed my second Fast. This one was 82 hours long in company with yourself and others following this thread. As I have said before, I found it extraordinarily easy. I reckon that it is the FEAR of being without food that was the main hurdle to overcome. What seems to happen is that my whole digestive system shuts down and there are no hunger pangs at all (as there are when trying to stick to the 500 cals per day on the 5:2 diet). It was only towards the 70th hour that I had about 10 minutes of feeling a bit light-headed. Apart from that I felt super-energised.

My mouth (where I have severe oral LP) has already much improved and I am watching the desquamous gingivitis to see if it is reducing (I think it is since my toothpaste and mouthwash don't sting so much).

Now lets hope for the same in my vulva and groin.

I hope everyone else who did the Fast found it as easy as I did.

I am actually looking forward to the start of October when I plan to do another 72 hour Fast.

Since my weight has been a matter of Bulimia I have to hold on to the thought that this is to correct my immune system, not to lose weight. Once I start thinking about weight-loss then my mind will overcome my Will and I will stop doing the Fasting.

Once again, many thanks for starting this thread.

Just a thought..how many here have painted their own houses/rooms?
    • Posted

      me...i've done that...had help!

Odd question, I've painted my house and other people's houses before

Ok...Marey knows this one..I have had mysterious skin problems on and off for 2 years..nothing in the blood has been found and the problem died away..However last week I painted my attic. On the 2nd day the skin around/above where the thryroid gland is began to prickle(as it has done before) the next night the skin on my upper arms became mottled and red. When I got up in the middle of the night one side of my neck was bright red..so I have just got back from my doctor who said the chemicals in paint can cause a lot of skin problems. My house is old. I did a bit of research and it is possible an arsenic based paint might have been used. However I have just talked to a decorator who informed me that up to about 1965 lead paint was used on walls and that you must never disturb it..which I cannot say I was aware of..but..when I looked at that long lists of vaious ingredients on that  modern paint tin I could not help but wonder what we have been exposed to or what we might have washed other clothing with(paint splattered against normal)maybe towels or undies.. My question is what if something so everyday can be..to some people..a real problem..what if there are certain times our bodies are more open to absorption..a common denominator??

I have painted this house quite a lot in the last few years...

run with this...its quite an interesting one....are we the manual traders? the ones in the population who've had high exposure to chemicals...of any sort? i'm pretty sure that chemicals and TOXINS have got me.....as well as stress.

specifically i was having to do a lot of spraying....weed killer to protect my horses from 'ragwort' ...a horse killer due to it being poisonous....my house's boundary walls to protect from valerian....an ancient stone wall destroyer....whereas previously i had manually pulled these up in the couple of years or so before i got LS i had resorted to this spraying. I used 'round up'. i now appreciate this glycosphate and GMO is a massively harmful product and needs to be banned...as do all the activities of Monsanto. President Putin refuses to speak to Obama til he addresses this evil company and  closes it down....good pressure. we could all do with joining in to resist this global giant! .....anyone else aware of GMO's and chemicals...including lead and other heavy metal house paints?

Logically, if this condition was first noted in 1890 something, this is unlikely to be the fault of modern chemicals.  In fact it is more likely on this basis to be the fault of ragwort or even dear old valerian - but I doubt this.

Hi everyone..what I do not like is the skin on my neck directly over my thyroid gland and maybe and inch or so in diametre is prickling as I write..so odd..I suppose that is the bit that got directly in paint line..but I have to say the Doctor was not suprised. Marey is there anything in roundup that is in paint..China refused GMO crops to land on its shores and turned away the shipment the US sent..they said it had not been tested enough..good for them! When I think of 1890 I remember makeup(not personally) don't know when they stopped using arsnic in what historians term as face paint..something that was put on to give a white velvet skin..and there was a lot of lead around..including water pipes..don't know..but I will have a read up..but good material is likely more at uni than on the internet..

This is just copied and paste from Wikipedia

      History

Lichen sclerosus (LS) is also known as lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA), balanitis xerotica obliterans (BXO), Csillag's disease, Lichen albus, Hypoplastic dystrophy, White Spot Disease and kraurosis vulvae. Typically it's called LSA or BXO when it affects men, LS when it affects women or in referring to the disease in general, and pediatric lichen sclerosus when it affects children. LS is usually found in the groin area, but sometimes on the upper leg or thigh.

Lichen sclerosus et atrophicus was first described in 1887 by Dr. Hallopeau.[34] Since not all cases of lichen sclerosus exhibit atrophic tissue, et atrophicus was dropped in 1976 by the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD), officially proclaiming the name lichen sclerosus.[35]

Hmm thanks margaret..I wil have a read..To clarify I am just examining possible triggers..one more avenue. For example it's looking at the binding agents which meld different chemicals into a whole..and understanding what root substance however distant they sprang from. I figure is I start there it should take a year or so..no joke on that one..The problem is this disease is believed to be auto immune..I don't like the word believed..it is simply not factual enough for me..and I also think examining factors which could be common denominators can be important even if those common denominators only affect people who are disposed to have a weakness in some way..So I am open minded..but looking at my skin at present quite curious on this

I heard that about China too. They have some good strong values remaining from their culture of 'friendship first'...they also exposed the practices that drug reps use ...ie drug lunches etc as sales pitches...stating that its bribery and not on their shores. Plus this turning away of Monsanto is uplifting. Yes good for them!   I so hope the rest of the world can also turn down these GMO's. Its absolutely vital if the planet is to have a future.

am concerned about this prickling that you have. Can you  drink loads and loads of filtered water and de-tox tea....? You have got to flush out your system. also try skin brushing vigourously in the bath and load it up also with epsom salts..got to get these residues out of you . Can you get out of the house as much as poss to escape fumes and leave doors and windows open?

How do we find out about the commonalities of these ingredients? They are all chemicals. Brilliant connection between lead in pipes and victorian makeup!! You are on the ball girl !!!!!!!!!!!!

First degree is in history..and passion is a lot of girly things..hmm whist we are talking sort of GMO lets not forget that there is a rice crop from a country that grows a lot of it and has a few problem with radiation out there and being shipped for market(but don't ask me to what countries the article did not specify)..read about that one the other day..I like rice!

Right..there are only so many root chemicals in the World and everything we use is derived from these. Its a bit like a tree with branches growing all over the place..So unfortunately it is looking at each ingredient in common substances and tracing them back to the parent..very generational..and a lot of work..however this does not mean it cannot be done..I am getting greyer by the minute..but..my guess is that there will be some type of research to tap into somewhere..and it is a matter of hunting..XX
