Hi about to try a little experiment on lichen planus and lichen sclorosis

I have lichen sclorosis and lichen planus of the vulva. I have had this for about 14 years. Dermovate is not the best control medication although it is just about all there is. My symptoms are at present full blown. My dermatologist is thinking oral steroids..I am not thinking that way at all. I have had a look at the 48 hour fast idea which is thought to reset the immune system. You have to do this one twice a year. I am going to give this a shot in September so anyone who wants to join me on this give me a shout cause I could do with the support. Also there is a new study on tumeric and oral lichen planus(mucus membranes) Apparently in clinical trials the oral lichen planus cleared in 6 weeks using a topical turmeric ointment which was specially prepared. However the intment did make the patients very sore during the 6 week process.  If the fasting does not work then I guess it is to the kitchen for me with a lot of tumeric root. You can find all of this on this net just put in 48 hour fast resets the immune system or tumeric heals oral lichen planus. We can but try, hope, and try again..maybe this can work.

Omen? LOL you never know.  I was married once but it didn't last he felt more like my brother.  We divorced amicably.  He died in a motorbike accident 10 and a half years ago.  I have a 23 year old son and have been with my boyfriend just over six years.  You know, thinking about that time, my mum, my ex husband and my uncle all passed away within a three months space of time.  Wondering if the problems I'm having could have been delayed reaction to that stress? That is the most stressful time of my life that I can think of.  Can't stop thinking about Morrell suggesting stress can trigger LS.  Or would it not be a delayed reaction? Would it be more sudden?  The only other stress I had in my life around the start of my problems is I remember being upset that my boyfriends mum passed away fairly suddenly within a month of finding out she had cancer, this was more upsetting because it was around the anniversary of my mums death and very soon after my boyfriend had to have checks and treatments for testicular cancer.  He's recently been given the all clear

thank goodness he's been given the all clear g!

glad things were amicable with your ex and that you have a wonderful son. my daughter is the same age...its a nice time isn't it ? hope you've been able to thoroughly mourn and to say goodbye to those that you lost in such a close space of time and more recently.  you seem to be exploring and gently come to terms with your losses and i agree it is really important to grieve inorder to recover yourself. might you be able to go back and to spend a bit more time in that particular grieving space? might that help g? is there a quiet place...perhaps in nature somewhere....that you could sit and contemplate these people, one at a time, remembering their good qualities and everything you loved about them? allowing the tears to flow...that is so healing. if it helps you might say their name and then out loud actually vocalise the words 'goodbye' ... i find it really helps to start the tears flowing....then after a while come back to the present and notice one particular colour around you..how often it appears. you're then ok to carry on with your day but can go back to the saddness again when you're ready ..til you've spent all the emotion and have healed yourself of that grief...but not forgotten those dear people.

hope this helps g thinking of you  x

    Hi Sky

Sorry I haven't read through all the replies too many. But I have come across a webite that claims to cure lichen planus it's called Genesis Church, Miracle mineral supplement. It was apparently discovered by Jim Humble google both things. I'ts one of the things I am looking into at the moment. Take care.

so what are we going to eat to break the fasting?

What do you suggest marey? I was thinking of having some yogurt with blueberries and cranberries

oh thank you so much for the question!    this is just such a lovely friendly corner ....all due to sky...thank you sky!

may i think about this? i'll get back to you ....your suggestion sounds lovely...and for you it may be ideal...i'm just thinking of those who are trying to keep away from dairy. of course we don't all have to do the same thing and its going to be important to have foods immediately availabe...so when we reach ...there is something of value...especially if we break fast early....important not to feel guilt.

i was thinking green smoothie but if too challenging maybe something with apple or banana?

Ok now..back to the nasty bit..if we eat tomorrow about 8pm then we sleep. that counts as the beginning of the fast..so we are already 8 or more hours in when we wake up..that means Tuesday will be the worst day and the worst night..by 8pm on Tues we will have done 24 hrs..which means if we get through most of wednesday until 8pm we will have done it and can eat and sleep properly..are my maths right?

Yes your math is brilliant..and well done for setting the stage. Also g is going to join us for the 1st day...hooray!

So I spent ages looking on the internet for green smoothies that I thought might appeal...but instead decided to try my own. Its all about the backdrop...doesn't have to have milk in it...but for nutrient value and a lovely taste maybe try this.

Get some creamed coconut (nothing added) there's a lovely one in a white packet with a colourful pattern....can't think of name...also pataks do sachets.

cut open one sachet and whizz with freshly boiled filtered water (not more than a litre)...this slightly cools the liquid ...so you can taste it and adjust and get to know coconut milk if you don't already ...its just lovely and so healthful...I then whizzed in some flax seeds (taste again....good way to get flax which is a vital healing oil, (flax oil could be added and coconut oil)  then whizzed in a handful of fresh spinach, then some frozen grapes (the seeds are invaluable) these were from my vine from last year but organic grapes would do the trick. best made up fresh ...but could be put aside for anyone feeling the need to have a reserve so fast not broken with something unhealthy.

so there's one from me...anyone else got a suggestion?

Hey marey how's things?  My fast went okay.  I was thinking about food yesterday morning but only until about 11am.  After that I was okay and I slept okay too.  One thing I noticed was i seemed to be backwards and forwards to toilet a lot more than normal.  Don't know if it was part of the detoxing process or just because of all the liquid I drank.

I 'd like to think it was the de toxing. I tried to drink more water too. Thank you so much for your input. You going to join next month too? I'm going to do the sara gotfried plan to detox more and to reset my wobbly hormones!!
