Hi about to try a little experiment on lichen planus and lichen sclorosis

I have lichen sclorosis and lichen planus of the vulva. I have had this for about 14 years. Dermovate is not the best control medication although it is just about all there is. My symptoms are at present full blown. My dermatologist is thinking oral steroids..I am not thinking that way at all. I have had a look at the 48 hour fast idea which is thought to reset the immune system. You have to do this one twice a year. I am going to give this a shot in September so anyone who wants to join me on this give me a shout cause I could do with the support. Also there is a new study on tumeric and oral lichen planus(mucus membranes) Apparently in clinical trials the oral lichen planus cleared in 6 weeks using a topical turmeric ointment which was specially prepared. However the intment did make the patients very sore during the 6 week process. If the fasting does not work then I guess it is to the kitchen for me with a lot of tumeric root. You can find all of this on this net just put in 48 hour fast resets the immune system or tumeric heals oral lichen planus. We can but try, hope, and try again..maybe this can work.

i found taking selenium in that lowish dose had a powerful effect. i only resort to thyroxin now if i'm feeling lazy have missed some selenium and need to catch up.
its good to observe the benefits of minimal interventions. just a tad worried you said GP thought you're taking too many meds. what are you on? go easy...better to try just one supplement at a time and for a period...otherwise its difficult to observe the effects. hope that makes sense. don't overdo it!! brill LS dropping off. what do you attribute that to? xx

So, the most we can expect to reduce the treatment is to once a week if it's really clear for a long time. It's ongoing maintenance.

yes great reminder of the need to drink filtered water, herbal and DE-TOX teas!! so peeps ...we've all got to run out and get some...ok they taste bitter but did you know that bitter tastes arise as we use too many anti-bacterial products....colgate toothpaste is finally being disapproved by the FDA...full of triclosans which destroy parts of our biome....everyone got the biome info from suzanne? ....so find a fluoride-free unsweetened bland paste to do our tooty pegs...then stuff will taste naturally sweeter ....and we'll get those subtle flutes that pervade foods...most of which have sweeter elements once sugar, processed salts, industrial seed oils and other junk foods...have i missed something....(?).....are ommitted.
Gosh i'm having some fun here...all this info flowing out ....this seems to be a friendly and receptive part of the site!!....thanks sky...all your doing....down to your bravery in taking this initiative...love you...briliant plan!
hey g
haha he heeeee!
quite like marry....maybe its an omen! i never married...have rowed my own boat as a solo parent ...but have been soooooooo lucky to have had a special friend throughout!
its great you found your way here....this is registration!! anyone who's anyone is coming on here to cheer on the fasters. to join in, or like you to committ to having a go on another date ...when you report in too - for full cheering on with ra ra skirts and silly hats...!!
so your only outstanding duty g is to pull in someone else to this fast...who yer goin call?

well done for quitting milk....i only drink organic with occasional coffee....i may have located a source of unpasteurised milk....as well as cheese...may be that these are non allergenic. i mostly drink herbal teas too....stepping up my game with the de-tox teas ...bought a packet for this fast and have already fini'd it...so i'm pleased. great to have you on here...you are a fab resource!

In the UK "Pasteurising Milk" involves only heating it to 71.5 degrees centigrade for 15 seconds and then cooling it rapidly before bottling. The aim of this process is to kill any bacteria, such as YB, that may be in the milk. I test positive for TB antibodies because I was given unpasteurisied milk from my uncle's farm more than 60 years ago (before the current major concerns about TB in cattle in the UK). At that time the occasional cow would have the disease. Other bacteria that are killed are, e.g. E. coli, salmonella, listeria and campylobacter. So that is why unpasteurisied milk and cheeses are not recommended for people who have impaired immune systems, e.g. pregnant women. I cannot see that anything in the pateurising process will make milk or cheese any more allergenic than it is to you in the original (raw) state. What I mean is that if you are allergic to dairy products pasteurised, then you will be allergic to them unpasteurised. Organic milk and dairy products are one of the hew organic products that are noticeably different in content (I exclude flavour, chemicals and GM from that comment). This is because generally (in the UK at least) organic milk always comes from cows fed predominantly on grass. This increases the Omega 3 content of their milk. By the way hens that are fed on fish meal also lay eggs with a high Omega 3 content, but personally I think the eggs taste a bit fishy.

I've heard raw milk is suppose to be good for you, we have a dairy near us but it's goats milk I can live without milk having none hasn't bothered me I just drink almond or coconut milk.
Look into reverse osmosis water filter thats for the whole house.
I'm not sure about detox teas or if they work, if you are just trying to cleanse your liver you can drink half a sqeezed lemon in warm water first thing in the morning about 30 minutes before you eat.

am following the efforts of people in the states to protect the grass fed cattle raising....how delighted i am to hear you conside our org milk is grass fed and so high in omega 3.
i could do without milk..used to drink unsweetened organic soya milk....but there are health issues with soya...i do make up my own coconut milk but the intention was to use it to make kefir or yoghurt....i love it and great for probiotics but haven't kept up with making it.
how do you feel about the 'organic' eggs from sainsburys? do we know the omega values? i do have a friend who runs pastured hens...so lovely...all fat and happy and healthy ..one sits on her lap...and two ducklings come in as well!!...so i can stock up when i go there but day to day...do you think uk labeeling is honest? i know there's a real prob in the states.
it is really lovely to talk to you this is right up my street....! Thanks so much for being here!!

so excited! also a device which creates a vortex...so getting that at the same time...not keen on reverse osmosis as its dead water....but loved the trail that sky got me started on and love the home experimentation plan! all ab fab!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If possible I don't shop in either Sainsbury or Tesco. Somehow I don't really like the taste of their products.
I feel one chooses in the first place either to believe in something or someone or be sceptical of them and then if one is proved to have chosen wrong the one handles that as the next decision - does that makes sense?
So where possible I purchase eggs and meat from someone I know who claims to grow or purchase all food within 7km of his farm. I have seen his farm and his stock seems healthy and happy. I choose to support him because I want to support the local community. If he proves to be lying about things then I will either shrug and accept that his produce is so excellent that I will continue to support him, or seek out someone else. He supplies one or two pretty famous restaurants and shops, so I think my assessment of his products is probably spot on.
I have been conned by someone local claiming organic status for his poultry and he was prosecuted. But his products never tasted tha-a-a-t good.
This is a good community here - I'm glad to be part of this discussion.

yes you're right...we've had so many organic veg enterprises start but not continue in this area however i'll keep looking...
may i just explore your 2nd sentence with you? didn't quite follow...is it that if, say, I make an error of judgement.... for example there's a communication problem with someone but i make the committment to try to work thro it in the belief that understanding will be possible...but it just isn't...i would take from this ...that... to put effort elsewhere is better in the first place? is that the kind of thing you mean? struggling with...'the one handles'...reading carefully would you just give me a hand. thanks...very valuable comment...much appreciated!
i've heard of what you're saying...in veg farmers market i asked whether produce was organic...liked this person...she said it was'nt but she did her best and didin't spray...but sprays the animal grazing ...so the fertiliser, tho organic material, would have chemicals in it...but that she declares this....whereas the other stall holder whilst claiming to be organic used to go out and spray at night!!! glad you're in this community too!

I decide that I like someone's approach to managing their produce and it tastes good. If I've been conned, then I shrug and move on to find someone else to believe in. But sometimes I am sceptical of someone's claims right from the first meeting and so I go on looking somewhere else. Personally I want to be someone who believes until proved otherwise. I don't want to be someone who is sceptical as a matter of rule.

how did you get on with the fast? fancy another go next month? am going to do the sara gottfried programme to try to help my hormones plus more de-toxing phew! what link were you seeking?

No sorry I didn't fast with you, I'm trying to find a time when I can do it. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week so fasting isn't really ideal when you lift heavy weights and you need as much energy as possible. The link was just about the magnetizing water for flouride. I have a hormone balancing pack on my laptop if you want me to inbox it to you ?

I must have missed this. You mention a hormone balancing pack? That sounds amazing! Thank you for the other info. Would love to receive this...or have I already? Loved the Alan Christienson info !
