Hi all,
I have just been prescribed Orlistat by my GP as I have an underactive thyroid and have been gaining weight for 18 months after having an endometrial ablation. I have been dieting however I either do not loose at all or I actually gain weight! My GP has recommended that I try this to see if I can shift some of the weight.
Are there any members still on here? It seems that a lot of the posts are from some time ago. It would be nice to share experiences with someone.

Is anyone sticking to a particular diet or are you just being sensible with what you eat?

Oh Heather, I'm not surprised that you are disheartened, I would be too. I have no advice I'm afraid other than that the paperwork states that it could be 2 weeks before you see a loss, perhaps you are in that section of people? Have you been eating normally?

I'm not counting my calories but 1200 sounds pretty low, so increasing sounds like a good idea. Let me know how you get on x

Hi all,
Weighed in again today, 1.4 pounds off. I'm glad that it is a loss but disappointed its not more as I was a lot stricter this week. Perhaps it was too strict. I will try to repeat my first week again to see if it results in a better loss 🤞🏼

What the GP recommends stands the test of time, although i would say go to a health store and see if there are any supplements you could try.
