Hi to my old hippie friends

Just wanted to say hi to all of my old hippie friends & to catch up on how you are all doing.

I still touch base on the forum now & again but generally my life has returned to normal (9 months post-op) & I'm as busy as ever at work.

I am so thankful that my op has been a complete success with a fantastic recovery & i often forget I've even had a THR (it still seems quite surreal)!

My surgeon did say that I would eventually have to have my other hip replaced but I should be OK for a few years. Lo & behold I've been getting an occasional twinge (more so if I've been out walking for a good few miles with my dog) & I'm beginning to wonder if I'll last a few more years! I'm not really in any pain & don't have to take any pain relief but I know what's coming! One thing's for sure, I won't delay the inevitable for 2 years like last time!

Anyway, all good at my end. Hope you are all well, big hugs to you all xxx

Very good to hear. 18 months on my new hip is fantastic too. As my surgeon said: it's wonderful what a bit of metal and ceramic can do. Carry on enjoying yourself!
