Hiya ladies. I went through a pretty nerve wracking event this week and latley i have been feeling more anxious than normal. I keep getting this feeling in my head the best way to discribe it is like a pulsating or thumping sensation only last a few seconds a few times a day. I do have issues with my neck but didnt think the 2 went together. I have been on Dr Google bad idea and now im thinking could this be blood pressure related? Ive always been on the low side I am 41 am a normal weight dont drink or smoke. However ive also read this could be caused from anxiety sometimes i can feel it in my chest two like my heart pounds for a few seconds then is normal. So my question is any ladies with high blood pressure did you have any symptoms prior to finding out. Could this be stressed induced? I will be seeing my doctor to have my pressure checked just looking for some reassurance advice kind words. This journey has been taking a toll on me. Thanks Everyone in advance

Yes it has to be related. I can feel it going up at times and when I'm out in stores with their machine I would check and it was always high.. Then I purchased one myself and I was a nut about it, constantly checking.. I thought 'oh great HB'BUT each time I'm at the Dr's office, they say it's OK. So that eased my mind a bit. I do take magnesium which is supposed to help, I also try to exercise each day even just a walk, I'm trying to eat more seeds, nuts and greens.. I don't want to take meds for BP--

Hi,
I can attest to similar experiences. I am 50 years old and always had blood pressure on the lower side. Based on my blood work (6 months apart), I was on the verge of perimenopause in August and by December my blood work pointed at being in menopause. Apparently my hormones did a huge drop in a short period of time and hence my blood pressure fluctuations. I have always had a higher heart rate but did appear to have high heart rate more often without much exertion and then my blood pressure started doing the same, accompanied by a feeling of queasiness and uneasiness within. I am not an anxious person so I am assuming many would correlate it with anxiety.
At first, my doctor placed me on a blood pressure medication and it made no difference to my symptoms, but instead added horrible side effects.
My periods have not fully subsided and the symptoms feel cyclical. However, I seem to control the blood pressure by doing breath work. As an example, I took by blood pressure this morning and it was 148/87 with a 101 heart rate. I sat and breathed calmly for 3 minutes, took it again and it went down to 113/80 and 92 heart rate.
I started Estro-life cream this week and Progest--life. Not sure it's helping yet, but will be seeing an HRT specialist in 2 weeks.
I never thought the blood pressure could be affected by hormones and apparently, neither do traditional general practitioners, but I am thankful to have found this forum and realize that I am not alone in this.
