Hip and groin pain following PKR

Posted , 4 users are following.

I had a partial knee replacement four weeks ago. Over the last week I have been having sharp pain in my groin and hip. I do know I have the start of osteoarthritis in my hip.

Anyone else experienced this after surgery? Does it mean the hip arthritis has got worse? I'm only 46!

I had full TKR IN Nov 2017 I had more pain in my groin and hip than the new knee lasted for 2 months till exercises got it strong again. Apparently it's because they push the leg hard to get it lined up with hip straight. The alignment will be new to your muscles so got to work on it. Good luck x

Sounds like the sciatica nerve coming out of your spine is pinch either from the surgery or the way you were walking pre surgery. Sometimes massage, physical therapy or even a spinal injection can free this.
