    Hi Gudl and Larry

Brum hip in 2002,no one has asked for xrays and as far as I know, still awesome.

i had a resurfacing 10 years ago when I was 60 and it was brilliant. Had a THR on my other hip last February as the consultant wasn't keen to resurface, which I would have preferred, That seems to be okay but I have a bit of pain in the last few days.

it's important to get a surgeon who does a lot of resurfacings as its a more complicated operation.

      Hi Melody,

      Good to hear from you...

Similar history. Birmingham resurfaced in Oxford in 2002, requested a resurfacing again but didn't get resurface in 2015.. EXETER version of THR instead.

Hope you get some massage and treatment for pain now.

Wondering how active you are, and happier too with hips fixed

I dont think they do resurfacing operation at Wrightington hospital anymore either.

Mine was 10 years ago and now the check ups are every 6 months because the consultant thinks the cup may have moved

I think they are cutting down on resurfacing as THRs seem to have improved so much and are lasting longer. They also are doing hip replacements on much younger people than in years gone by for the same reason.
