Hit my acrylic nail resulting in lifting my real nail and I believe pushing the nail bed to skin

I accidentally hit my acrylic nail against the cabinet causing it to lift my real nail bed and I think it also pushed my nail bed passing my cuticle. As you can see from the pictures, I believe that is my nail that should be under my skin. Should I keep it covered until the nail grows--of course I will put peroxide on twice a day. What should I do? Someone please help

    Girl the SAME thing just happened to me today. I've snagged my acrylics on many things, but of course the one thing that rips my nail off is a pillow on my couch smh. The nail isn't fully lifted from my nailbed but about half of it is and I've been contemplating what to do. I've been tempted to go to the doctor and have it entirely removed but others have told me not to. I have no idea what to do!

    hi. i just had this happen to me last night i just clipped the acrylic nail down and pressed down my nail and cleaned with peroxide. I am not sure what else to do. My pinky finger is red and swollen and it looks funny underneath. what should i do? imageimage

    omg im so glad i found this thread because the EXACT same thing happened to me 8 days ago now!

    first photo is half hour after it happened, second photo is next day and the third is now.

    i got attacked by a crazy woman and obviously i defended myself and my acrylics didnt like this at all. i feel so sorry for those of you who have the acrylic nail still on your damaged nail!!!! mine ripped off in the attack.

    my skin is black and bruised which you cant see very well in the photo from the nail digging into it so what did everyone do about that??? it occasionally gets really hot and throbs its more annoying than anything.

    my next question, have your ladies nail grown back yet? what does it look like now? and did anyones nail end up just falling off itself? i dont know what to do because i cant just rip it off since one side is still intact. if not did you just leave it alone and let it do its thing? im thinking thats what im going to have to do but im so scared ill never have a normal nail again because to be honest my nails are so ugly without acrylics and im worried i wont be able to have them done again 😦 hahahah help meeeee

    This literally happened to me!! went to ER had entire nail removed from nail bed. this was 4 days ago! it still throbs and is tender and sore. did the ER perscribe anything to you? or did you just cover it with a bandaid and deal with it naturally ?

      this happened to me also & im currently in bed at 4am not being able to sleep due to the amount of pain im in, the whole thing came off earlier leaving me with nothing at all on my nail and its producing an orangy substance ?? does anyone know what this is !! but i kept mine banadaged and soaked in salt water every day , just dealt with the pain naturally but now its all off i dont bandage it because it hurts more due to it being more sensitive and i had to take pain killers

    i had something similar happen to me but my right side of my nail is lifting up and might be coming off. Any advice on what i should do about it?

    this happened to me today! does anyone know how to solve this, I'm not sure what to do with the nail that has come through the skin at my cuticles and my nail bed hurts a lot and it has been hours.

    this just happened to me and I was wondering why you said to not use hydrogen peroxide? i had read another site that said to use it? i just am not sure what to do???
