The changes made a few months ago have been a disaster. You'd think they'd have worked things out by now. on the plus side I now find it really easy to keep up!

Me too!!!!!!!
I've heard that the requests we made were passed on and were to be acted on but have been shelved to allow work on other parts of the website. Which reinforces the message I get that the forums are now regarded as second class and that they tried to do too much, too soon and with people who possibly didn't know what they were doing - and certainly didn't think of potential consequences.

I thought I was getting on a site that would discuss, give experiences and advice on PMR, not a social site. There are plenty of the latter out there as well as face-to-face social encounters

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. I can only assume you are totally unaware of the context of our conversation.
What has been discussed here on this thread - in the absence of any other way to communicate with one another - is the problems we have experienced in recent months using this site and forum at all. We have been attempting to keep it accessible to all - because unless we are all here, you won't have much of an opportunity to discuss anything. It isn't any use when it is next to impossible to get on and post.

IF YOU HAD BEEN AROUND AND LONG ENOUGH YOU WOULD KNOW THIS FORUM IS THE BEST FOR INFORMATION AND IF IT WAS NOT FOR EILEEN A LOT OF US WOULD HAVE GONE UNDER. I HAVE JUST STARTED THE HU FORUM AND I CAN ASSURE YOU ITS NOT HALF ASGOOD AS THIS ONE,

Well, except that most of the people who use (or used to use) this site have migrated over to HealthUnlocked because this one is such a pain to use now. It is much looser and freer because there isn't the same level of moderation, so there are plus sides to using both sites and accepting each for what it is. But Patient is a shadow of its former self.

I find that if I am not happy with a discussion site I pack it. I have not paid anything for it so I am getting the information for free, from people who would like to share their experiences with me for which I am very grateful.

i also have been struggling to keep up with this lovely forum's " NEW" system
like others, i also feel its a shame that many folks, like myself who have pmr , have taken a step back from posting as its complicated and not productive for sick people.
Eileen, is like th Captain of a ship , she will be the last one to desert ...kind soul
please admin try and get the obvious problem sorted

Hi all,
Sorry for late reply, I've only just become aware of this discussion.
Can any user affected with getting "Page not found", 404 error pages etc let me know if this issue has now resolved itself or are you still getting these messages when clicking email links? I have tried to recreate the issue but cannot.
If you are still having problems could you forward an example email to ps.webmaster @ patient.info (remove spaces) as the developers need the actual email to investigate properly.
If you do forward an email reply here to let me know.
Generally there are still outstanding issues since the release and I am chasing these up to get more priority put on them. I have noted the comments about slowness and may PM users to get more info.
Just a note to apologise for any inconvenience caused by these issues and none of it is being done deliberately or to keep costs down. It is all about priorities and as I have said above I am going to chase things up and let people know the effect all of this is having on the forums.
I hope you can be patient and if there are any specific issues that are causing major problems for users then please post in here as I am now following this discussion and will note everything and pass it on. I am aware of several things I have been trying to get sorted but feel free to comment again about any issue. I'll reply as required/best I can.
Regards,
Alan

Noted but just to check, are they both to this discussion/post as I copied and pasted this reply in another discussion? I will check very closely all emails and notifications I get for these latest discussions to see if I get same issues.

You are right - my mistake. But to be fair, because of the way you often get just part of the discussion it is not obvious, both came after a post from Margaret.

Hi all,
I have now received several example emails from various users so thank you for that. The problem is the link within the email has the wrong format so I have passed these on to the developers so they can investigate and fix this. I will let you know when it has been put out.

Alan
