How can two days be so different?

Hi everyone
I've halved my dose in the last 10 months or so, lost count. I've been on 5mg for about 7 months.
Yesterday I had a great day, no headaches, no lightheadedness, no ear fullness. I was up early, cleaning, cooking, even did all my Windows. Today, I'm back to where I was the day before. I have all those things mentioned above with frustration and tearfulness, not to mention the tinnitus.. Why is this happening, can anyone explain please?

Hi Graham
Thanks for replying.
Why does it do that I wonder?
I've been up and down since weaning, more downs than ups I think. Yesterday I thought I had turned the corner, couldn't quite believe how normal I felt, but I've have had good days before so I should have known better. It's so difficult to keep focussing on why it's happening, it gives me health anxiety wondering if anything else is going on. It's only 5mg fgs, when I read others here on 20/30 it makes me wonder how they cope with increasing/decreasing. It really is a nightmare!

Its certainly very strange how it works, i read a really good post on here a while ago about how these meds work and what they have to do to your brain which caused ups and downs. Im on 20mg which ive been on from the start 15 days ago

Yes have been off SERTROLINE for 4weeks and have days of ear fullness and lightheaded and headaches. BUT am determined to stay the course and not go back on medication... It really does not help in the long run. VAL

Thanks Toria and Valerie,
You are right Toria, I did overdo if yesterday because I felt so good and the sun was shining.
It's reassuring to know that you have similar symptons to me Valerie, so sorry.
I know you have loads yourself too Toria.
Yes, I have to stick it out on 5mg, I tried a small increase once but I felt worse.
I know it can take weeks, months or even years for some people to recover but it's so soul destroying.
Thanks both x

Stay on the 5mg it will work as I was told ☺ it's a seretonen and it will work in do time . Thanks Babsyboo
I get that noise sensitivity too since withdrawing. I don't watch tv either, I prefer to watch tv programmes on my tablet in my bedroom. It seems start up effects are similar to withdrawal effects only withdrawal effects seem to last longer.
Thanks for replying, I hope you settle soon on 5mg.😊

I too get all of that. It's a no wonder our minds wander when there are so many symptoms.

Have you ever had your vitamin D level checked? It is a separated blood test from your normal routine blood panel. The test is called a 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D test. Vitamin D is actually a hormone so it can cause all of the symptoms you have listed and a myriad of many others. I actually experienced the same symptoms and more when getting off of lexapro but then found out from many people that my symptoms could be caused from a low level of vitamin D. If you live in the US, about 75% of people have low levels of this hormone and have no idea because doctors normally do not include this test with your routine blood panel. After getting mine checked and then correcting my level, i could not believe how many symptoms and ailments started to dissapear as the months went by.

Hi GinaB11
I'm in the UK and would be interested to know if it's easy to get this done at the doctor's surgery if anyone knows?

I am not positive about that. But i do know that wherever you normally get your regular routine blood panel work done is where they will also give you this test. Just ask them for a 25 hydroxy vitamin D test.
