How can two days be so different?

Hi everyone

I've halved my dose in the last 10 months or so, lost count. I've been on 5mg for about 7 months.

Yesterday I had a great day, no headaches, no lightheadedness, no ear fullness. I was up early, cleaning, cooking, even did all my Windows. Today, I'm back to where I was the day before. I have all those things mentioned above with frustration and tearfulness, not to mention the tinnitus.. Why is this happening, can anyone explain please?

Hi Sonia can I just ask why you are reducing your dose if you felt better. Thank you

      Hi June

I'm prone to gum infections and take antibiotics more often than most. When I do take them it affects is my anxiety, it's like start up effects. They don't mix well with citalopram for me.

Because I was feeling ok I thought I'd wean off but I have been getting withdrawal affects for about 10 months so if I can settle on 5mg I am going to leave it there. Incidentally, my gum infections have reduced since reducing.

OK thank you it is scary as still trying to recover on 30. The thought of all these awful side effects yet again when you start withdrawal eventually but I just want to feel back to normal first!! and be happy again

      Hi June

I felt normal on 10 mgs for 10 years. I started on 20 but they were too strong for me so after a couple of weeks I went down to 10. I have read others being on them for life, if I had realised all these withdrawals, I would have stayed on them.

I hope you feel as good as I felt once you settle. Best wishes😊
