How I cured my acid reflux, naturally.

Hi:  It seems like there are many more people suffering from acid reflux than ever before.  Professionals offer only medications and surgery.  I have suffered from acid reflux on and off for some 20 years.  After much research and meditation on how the esophageal sphincter functions, I discovered a low cost solution.  Two or three times a day I drink orange flavored carbonated mineral water.  After drinking it, I hold back the burp for 3 to 5 minutes, sometimes longer.  Then burp the air out.  Make sure to always do this right before bed.  This forces the esophageal sphincter to work hard to hold down the increasing air pressure.  It is the only way to strengthen this muscle.  After nearly 2 years of nexium,  I am now completely off acid blockers and only take a sip of water with sodium bicarbonate before bed, just for protrection. Please try this and let me know if you also find relief from acid reflux.  I hope you do.  Regards, John

Hi John, it will soon be 2 weeks since I started your carboneated water treatment (cwt).   I am feeling absolutely wonderful!  No Gerd whatsoever!  I went from not being able to eat with terrible pain to eating whatever I like and living again!   I had my endoscopy two days ago and my Gastro said that everything was healed up and there were no signs of a hernia or gastritis.  She said my LES was stronger and to keep doing whatever it was I was doing!   Thank you so much!

That’s amazing!!! I was told you couldn’t strengthen your los my my gastroenterologist!!!

how many times a day did you do the carbonated water and how much at a time?

Everytime I drink a glass I don’t need a flaming burp!!! After plain water I do, what am I doing wrong??!!

Hi Katie:  I think there is something wrong with the carbonated water you are using.  Why don't you get some name brand diet soda pop, like coke, and try again.  Don't refrigerate it, just use it at room temperature.  Let me know what happens.

It’s strange as it’s so fizzy!! More fizzy than coke!!

I felt like I needed a burp after a few minutes and I managed to hold it in!! Had a slight gurgle in my throat though 🤔

I do feel slightly nauseous after drinking the water and keeping the burp down.

Perhaps if you just practice the burping part.  Just drink a glassful and burp when ever you feel the urge.  Do that for a few days, and once you know that pressure is building up and you CAN burp, then do the treatment of holding down the burp.

Hi Maryanne, its pretty simple.  Just get a couple cans of diet pepsi or diet coke.  Take a few moments to drink one as fast as you can. Dont worry if you have to take a few breaks.  DONT burp!   Finish the entire can and then wait five minutes.   Once the five minutes is up you can burp away.   Do this 4 times a day for a week at first.  Sometimes i burp really big and other times there are only little ones.  As time goes on, you will keep the burps down longer and you'll start sounding like a frat boy!

have patience and give it a week to see some improvements.  Best of luck!

4 cans a day??? Lol that’s a lot of coke. I don’t drink coke. Lol.  Is that all you did ? And this worked for you? Honestly?

      Hi Maryann:

Desperate people will do desperate things to get some relief.  Even drinking some diet coke.  I'm being a little sarcastic but I've read of people who have had surgery to 'correct' this GERD issue.  That means multiple doctor visits, then preparing for surgery, going under the knife, having the doctor wrap the stomach around the esophagus and sew it in place.  Then if that person gets the stomach flu and vomits, they can tear the wrap completely apart.  Then more surgery to repair it.  But, they do hundreds of these surgeries every year.  I would much rather drink some diet coke.

I dont drink coke either! You can drink carbonated water, I guess as long as it’s fizzy!!

Hi Maryanne, I was using the diet coke as an example. Personally, I don't drink diet coke or diet pepsi either.  I drink carboneated water, like Perrier.   But people cant grasp that for some reason.  The point is to drink something fizzy and follow the instructions.  Best of luck.

That is great news!  I am so happy that this worked for you.  I would just recommend to do the treatment every week or two to keep the LES strong.  For some reason, some of us tend to have weakness in that area.  And I do like your acronym CWT.  John

Hi John, I just looked back on your post and it says you hold in the burp for 3-5 minutes then let out the air, do I have to let out the air or can I just keep holding the burps in? Won’t this strengthen it further?

      Hi Katie:

Have you ever been diagnosed with a Sliding Hiatal Hernia?  If so, see my response to Ellebi.  Let me know what you think.  It could explain why you have trouble building up pressure from the carbonated water.  John

Hi john, no I don’t have any hernias, all I have is a very slightly lax sphincter it’s not even open, just slightly loose, my barium swallow was also normal.

Im keeping up with the sparkling water as I do occasionally feel like I need a burp so making progress!!

Okay, very good.  Try adding these things to your program. 1. Raise the head of your bed at least 8 inches, or as high as you can.  2. Sleep only on your left side, and if you must, on your back, never on the right side.  The shape of the stomach is like a tea kettle and sleeping on the left side keeps the spout upward, so gravity will work for you. 3. Do some mini sit ups three times a day.  Strengthening your core will help all muscles do their job better.  4. If you get daytime burning, try chewing some xylitol cinnamon gum, rather than taking an antacid.  5. Don't eat anything four hours before bed, that will allow your stomach to shut down. You can take 1/2 of an antacid tablet like tums or a teaspoonful of malox before bed. Keep me posted.

I bought Perria water and omg the burp wants to come out and I keep holding and it slips out. How do you hold it for so long ?  My husband thinks I’m crazy lol

😂😂 Maryanne that did make me laugh!! My husband thinks I’m mad too with all this 🤪

I’m sure John will give you the answers, I’d suggest to keep working at it, you’ll get there in the end! I’m trying too!!

Thank as always for your advice, much appreciated.

Funnily my friend lent me her acid reflux pillow wedge yesterday, I tried it last night but ended up throwing it out the bed as I couldn’t sleep!! I’ll keep trying!!

I’ve heard that taking magnesium is very good for your sphincter, what do you think?

    • Posted

Yes, I agree, I take 500 mg of ultramag every day.  It promotes healing and helps muscles operate properly.  I try not to overwhelm people with too many things, but promoting overall health will prevent GERD and many other possible ailments.  The body need tools to function and heal.

That’s ok! I need to know everything to heal naturally!!

My gastroenterologist did actually advise that melatonin at night can also help the sphincter and sleep, win, win!!

I’m seeing a nutritionist soon for stool analysis, hoping to get some good advice from her too as she specialises in digestion 😀

Lol ya. He was looking at me cause I was drinking the water and than trying to hold burp in lol. I didn’t look so sexy I guess hahaha

I take magnesium every night for about 2 months now. Haven’t noticed a difference  yet sad

I was taking magnesium before this happened so obviously didn’t help me either 😂 I’m being strict with it now, we will get there!!

I was thinking about holding the burps in after fizzy water, I wonder if trying to hold your burp in when you eat or whenever you feel you need a burp helps in the same way 🤔
