How I cured my acid reflux, naturally.

Hi: It seems like there are many more people suffering from acid reflux than ever before. Professionals offer only medications and surgery. I have suffered from acid reflux on and off for some 20 years. After much research and meditation on how the esophageal sphincter functions, I discovered a low cost solution. Two or three times a day I drink orange flavored carbonated mineral water. After drinking it, I hold back the burp for 3 to 5 minutes, sometimes longer. Then burp the air out. Make sure to always do this right before bed. This forces the esophageal sphincter to work hard to hold down the increasing air pressure. It is the only way to strengthen this muscle. After nearly 2 years of nexium, I am now completely off acid blockers and only take a sip of water with sodium bicarbonate before bed, just for protrection. Please try this and let me know if you also find relief from acid reflux. I hope you do. Regards, John

I’ve been reading this thread and have found it very useful. I have been having symptoms of persistent burping, excessive saliva (and subsequent swallowing of saliva). I’ve been on PPIs for five days so far but from what I’ve read i should stay clear of them. Can you recommend anything? Should i try the carbonated water method?

I sent you a private message with some products that I use.
As far as the carbonated water, it can be plain or flavored, but it needs to be fresh. Drink 10 oz anytime during the day, before a meal may be better. Hold the burp down, like you would if you were eating with the Queen. Then after 5 minutes slowly release the burp. It may take a few burps to release all the air. Do this 4 times a day to start. Each week add a few minutes to each session. Eventually you will be able to hold back the burp for 20 minutes without discomfort.
Let me know how it works for you. John

There is new research on the impact of gut bacteria on a persons health. The new evidence is that it can cause all types of illness, even obesity and autism. I have always had a problem with bad gut bacteria. I take a probiotic capsule every day and also eat lots of organic probiotic yogurt.
There is a treatment called a fecal transplant. It has saved lives. There is a new treatment coming out using processed good gut bacteria in capsules. But, I think they are prescription only.
You can also look on Youtube and find videos of people doing this transplanting at home. People get desperate.
Ask your doctor if he/ she can give you a prescription for the treatment. Let me know what happens.

I’ve taken prebiotics and eaten live yogurts for years so I was rather disappointed to find out I have these bad bacteria but not good 😏
I still don’t know though once my gut is sorted wether I’ll still get acid because my sphincter is lax or wether it’s to do with my bacteria.
My nutritionist is now putting me on probiotics of 450 billion as the 20 billion plus yogurt not working!
Thanks for the info I’ll look into it!

I have had this prob for ages - decided it is bad bacteria (doc no idea). On Zantac as refused PPI's. I also take Pepzin and Mastic Gum - both help loads. I took probiotic caps for a while and apart from hurt me they did nothing. I recently discovered Kefir and the difference is massive. Is it worth a go for you?

This is just generic information for anyone who can use it. On the subject of gut bacteria, if you look at your tongue and it looks white, that is bad bacteria. Good bacteria in the mouth does not make a coating like that. Your tongue should look pink and smooth. This can be caused by many things; a bad tooth or teeth, tonsil issues, nasal infections. Bad habits like chewing the inside of the mouth or biting fingernails.
It is difficult to remove and seems to come back. I don't like using antibiotics so what I have used before is Pepto Bismol. The tablet form. Right before bed, after brushing the teeth, chew a tablet but don't swallow it, swish it around for a few minutes then spit it out. Don't rinse. Go to bed and in the morning your tongue will be black. That is because it killed all the bacteria. Now brush your teeth and scrub your tongue until it is clean.
The best way to maintain that pink tongue is eating probiotc yogurt. And lots of vegetables to keep thing moving.
Mouthwash also seems to mess up the bacteria in the mouth.
The reason the mouth bacteria is so important is that it is directly linked to the digestive system and can feed more bad bacteria to the digestive tract and mess it up too.

Hi john,
I have tried your solution for strengthening the LES, albeit without the olive oil.
I am finding my condition has worsened, it seems that you have to be very careful with the timing of the carbonated water.
If I take carbonated water with any residual food in my stomach ( slow digestion due to fats etc) I seem to be able hold the burping although I do feel some leakage but when I burp several times my throat feels sore and my nasal congestion worsens. There seems to be an accumulative effect over the course of the day.
Effectively what I am doing is atomising the contents of my stomach (pepsin, acid etc) into my oesophagus, causing irritation, damage and nasal congestion.
Not sure how to get around this?
Many thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike:
Just like any exercise program, there could be side effects, but the final result will be worth it. I would recommend that you separate your meals by 3 hours with nothing but water in between. No coffee, no sodas, no milk just filtered water, dechlorinated.
Do your carbonated water treatments 30 minutes before you eat. This should minimize any acid burping upward. When I had gastritis, I could hardly burp and I always felt bloated and nauseated. But, I am over that too. It can be a long road, but stick to it. This is the only real solution.
After your treatment, drink some regular water and irrigate and clean your nasal passages. That should prevent some of the issues your experiencing. Keep me posted, John.
