How I cured my acid reflux, naturally.

Hi: It seems like there are many more people suffering from acid reflux than ever before. Professionals offer only medications and surgery. I have suffered from acid reflux on and off for some 20 years. After much research and meditation on how the esophageal sphincter functions, I discovered a low cost solution. Two or three times a day I drink orange flavored carbonated mineral water. After drinking it, I hold back the burp for 3 to 5 minutes, sometimes longer. Then burp the air out. Make sure to always do this right before bed. This forces the esophageal sphincter to work hard to hold down the increasing air pressure. It is the only way to strengthen this muscle. After nearly 2 years of nexium, I am now completely off acid blockers and only take a sip of water with sodium bicarbonate before bed, just for protrection. Please try this and let me know if you also find relief from acid reflux. I hope you do. Regards, John

Thanks for this great advice. I've been doing this whenever I feel symptoms coming on. It works as a short term remedy. I'm not sure that it's a cure. I'll let you know!

Hi Dakota: I completely understand your nervousness about the endoscopy procedure. I personally have not had that procedure but my uncle has to have one every year. He told me that the doctor will give you a sedative and you won't even remember it afterwards.
I think you could have multiple nutritional deficiencies. I would recommend that you start juicing organic vegetables and fruit right away. Drink 8 to 12 ounces every 3 or 4 hours. It can really change your life.
A few years ago my sister married a man with type 1 diabetes. Previously, over the years he had many episodes of high blood sugar and would even go into comas because of it and end up in the emergency room. My sister put him on juicing right away. Withing a year he was completely off his insulin and now has near normal blood sugar levels. Let me know what you think. John

I would definitely ask to be sedated but you will be fine ☺️ Best of luck with everything

Hi Jonathan, I am a juicer and a smoothier!
My mum had type 2 Diabetes and now my brother has it. Defo bad eating and lack of exercise is his downfall. I keep trying to get him to try juicing but he won't. I have annual bloods to check on cholesterol, sugar etc etc and my sugar levels are always in very normal range, lower than my hubs who does not have D2 in his family at all.
The only thing I would say is keep the ratio higher in the veggies and keep the fruit to no more than 2 for the sugar content. Even our humble carrot is high in it. Smoothies contain the fibre which offsets the sugar to a large degree so that is a good idea.
Good advice for us tummy guys.

Dakota, I have several gastric issues for about 6 years now. I also get anxiety/panic and have had several panic attacks which are scary but not harmful. I have had 2 endoscopies and was terrified at the hospital whilst waiting for them to prep me. (I also have the lumpy feel in the throat, with me it is LPR (silent reflux) and anxiety which makes it feel more lumpier).
At the hospital as soon as they put the sedative in the back of your hand, you go and join the fairies - it is very very relaxing and suddenly you are just not scared. It took about 5-7 mins each time. Then it is done. Wheeled away to come round which was about 30 mins of pure relaxation, then for me back to my room and a sandwich and pot of tea were brought to me (NHS).
If I need another one which no doubt I will, I certainly won't worry.
One thing I wlll say which is so funny (well to me anyway) whilst coming round fully enough for you to walk out, it does present itself in a very windy fashion if you get my drift. It personally made me laugh - more so to see the look on my hubs face each time it made its presence felt lol.
Don't worry about it at all. Then come back on here and tell your experience.
The lumpy feeling could very well be your vagus nerve in your throat which is clenching because you are uptight. There are several techniques to release this - I use them myself. One is holding your thumb firmly for about 15 mins. I use this when in the passenger seat of our car if I feel a panic coming on - it sort of melts it away. Think that one is acupressure.
Worth a google, the mind is a powerful thing and you rule it not it you.
All the best
Gwen

Hi John! Not sure how long it's been since I first did your method. I just wanted to touch base and let you know that things are still going great! I did as you suggested and within 3 days I was feeling much better. That was pretty amazing. I kept it up for about 2 weeks then tapered off the carbonated water. Since then, I do the CWT (carbonated water treatment) about once a month and it's good. I've come off one of my PPIs and now I'm weaning myself off the second one. I am finding this one harder. You were right. Once you start to come off these little suckers the acid gets worse. That's not much fun. But I remember you saying that it would improve in a few months. Anyway, thanks so much for all your help. It changed my life for the better!

Hi Cindy: Thank you so much for the update. You just made my day. I am so happy to hear that you are still feeling better.
I agree, there is something about those PPI drugs that causes physical changes to the stomach. Even though I have been off them for nearly two years I still get an occasional stomach burn feeling. But, I deal with it in other ways; chew gum, take a tablespoon of olive oil, or chew a small piece of gaviscon. I have found Gaviscon to be absolutely the best. And, so far, no side effects. I still have a yogurt smoothie every morning, which aids digestion and reduces bloating. I also found a new probiotic/ enzyme formula that I take every day. It is called Nzymes pro-B. I also bought a powder formula which I give to my dog mixed with milk and it has almost eliminated her terrible loud burping issue.
You are almost at the finish line, so keep up the good work. And, keep me updated to your progress. John

I have a question that carbonated water or soda is strictly restricted for gerd/lpr guys as it creates gas and which preasures let to open and allow acid to flow up.
Dont you think that your method creates pain in splincter and creates acid reflux ?
Just wanted sure 5 times thats why asking ?
Same way i am feeling good since last 3 to 4 days having throat ok and heartburn and other sysmptoms reduced almost nil but wanted to get reed of it completely ?
Need your help please ?

Many people drink one to five sodas every day, with few issues, so carbonated water is not a danger to ones health. If you are concerned then you can drink regular water and then invert for 5 minutes and work up to 20 minute sessions. A normal person should be able to hang upside down without any water coming out.
Most people on this forum have a number of issues, you will need to treat them one at a time until you feel better.

Sorry, I missed your post. Sometimes I get too busy and don't check my email. And thank you for the nice comments.
Anyway, I would recommend you continue the carbonated water treatment. It took a long time for you to get in this situation so it could take a year or more to get well.
Any carbonated water will do, flavored is just for taste. Drink 10 oz and then do not burp. Like you would do if you were having lunch with the Queen. It may hurt a bit. But soon the sphincter will get stronger and the pain will stop. Just start off slowly, 5 minutes 4 times a day and add a few minutes to each session each week.
I will private message you for enzyme and magnesium products.
