My Doc told me 4 weeks. I flew almost 4 weeks to the day after my RTHR. It was two legs - 2 hours and 2.5 hours. I sat in an aisle seat and was able to get up and walk around, which he said was essential. Despite being a little worried, I had no problems whatsoever.

Hi Jolly Kev. thank you so much for your reply.

i just wanted to see if O may be able to fly for 1 hour before xmas.

But I checked with my doc again and he advised 12 weeks to be on the safe side as I did not have a straight forward RTHR.

      Have a lovely xmas

I think it varies enormously from person to person and their doctor will be able to advise them. Just because it was OK for one person to fly a month after their op does not mean others can. DVC is a nasty thing to get and some are more sceptible than others to it.

      Hi,

I would make sure to wait 12 weeks. Just to be on the save side.
