I was only in one night because of shortage of beds. Should of been in longer really. Sam is right, the longer you stay in you can rest more. Good luck xx

Upto 4 or 5 days are you being cut? It's nice to stay in because you can not do much or move and you need the pain killers. You feel so unwell you don't care. Good luck don't worry Iam 24 weeks post op still not 100% and still sore ans trying to sort my hrt. Iam hoping by sept I will feel 100% better. Any advice we are all here for you. Everyone is different so you could be much better x

I had TAH and BSO beginning of February and was in for 4 days. Had a lot of bleeding post op and stayed in bed for first 2 days. By day 4 I was ready to go home. Wouldn't have been happy to go before then as not good on feet and bowels not working , pain Meds etc . You will know when ready to go home and they will let you know when they are happy so I would say go with medical advice and how you feel as well. Good luck.ย

I was private but it was under the nhs I was in my own room alone I so wish I was on a ward so I could talk to people. If you are go on a ward you get to make good friends who are in the same boat. So you will be fine. I had my op on the Saturday come round about tea time and my docter said I could go home Monday but I was not ready to go untill wens morning. Make sure you take a pillow to put on your tummy for your ride home. X

    Hi sharon,

I had a TAH & BSO with fibroids removed aswell including one which was just over 6lb.I was in 3 nights but even though i didn't have my op until 5pm and get to the ward until 9 30pm i felt well enough to go home by late morning once the drain and catheter were removed. It varies from hospitals and consultants. They need to make sure that your bowel and bladder are working ok aswell. The hospital stay was worrying me aswell as i hadn't been in hospital for about 12 years and that was only for 1 night.Everything worked out fine and was better than expected. Please do not worry.

    xxx
