I was in a private hospital but under nhs and it was fantastic. Own room, more privacy, no alarms going off waking me up and the care was fabulous. I went in on a Friday and came out on the Monday afternoon. I has an abdominal cut and had ovaries taken too. I was ready for home that day but definately wasn't ready before

    Hi Sharon

I was in for 3 nights, had my TAH & BSO on the thursday morning and was discharged on the Sunday afternoon. Was glad to get home as the hospital was so noisy and always something going on, even through the night so didn't get much rest.

    Good luck with you op

Oh and when you come round from op they tell you to drink but don't do wht i did and drunk 5 og the hospital jugs from about 6pm to midnight cos they think i overdid it on the fluids which could have also caused the bladder problems.  I apparently should have only drunk a couple of jugs worth but they kept filling it up so i kept drinking lol

    Hi Sharon

It depends on what sort of hysterectomy you have, and how you react to it.  I had a vaginal hysterectomy, had my operation 10 a.m. Good Friday, and was home by 4.30 p.m. on the Saturday.

Don't be anxious Sharon - I had a hysterectomy and vaginal repair following a prolapse last September. I had the op. on the morning of 2nd and was discharged on 4th. The staff and other ladies were really encouraging and helpful and as long as you are careful and accept all the help you are offered there is no reason why you shouldn't make a full recovery.  I am fully fit now and so thankful I had the procedure.

    Every blessing for the 26th.biggrin
