How long will cheekbone swelling take to go

Two weeks ago I got hit in the face and had a black eye and swollen cheek. The bruising is gone but there is still a bit of swelling on my cheek. How long will it be before I am back to normal. I saw my doc two days ago and he said its not fractured or anything but I thought that when the bruising went I would be back to normal and I am quite worried.

I developed a hematoma after a fall in Nov 2017. It is now June 2018 and I feel that the way I look now is normal from now on. The bruising and hematoma are completely gone, but I still have very slight swelling on cheekbone. I can live with it, but it's there!!! I felt that people noticed and weren't saying anything. I asked family members and close friends and they said it's barely noticeable. If I hadn't said anything they wouldn't have known. It took 6 mos to get to this point. I hope my situation helped.

Hello amy789,
I had my injury (fractured sinus wall due to a hard hit) back in December 2016. Since then I also have a hard lump under my cheekbone going to my upper lip. Also I have less sensitivity on that side (left). It's barely noticeable for other people than myself. Even my surgeon doesn't see or feel anything. But I can feel that mass down there. I had a MRI done back in May this year and it revealed .. you may know.. just nothing.. Slight inflammation of the maxillary sinuses but that's it about it. I guess we just have to wait it out. Wish you the best!

My accident was 14 months ago. There is still a slight protrusion, about 1/2" x 1" on my face. You have to know it is there to see it. The bigger problem is that in the accident I broke my arm, just above the elbow. It did not heal correctly and should have had surgery jut after the injury. Unfortunately, I weas in a location without the best medical care. So I have to have surgery soon to break the improperly healed bone and to ghet it right with plates and screws.
