How long will I be in hospital?

hi everyone,

I'm new to the group. Hope you're all ok.

i am going to have an abdominal hysterectomy on 5th feb.

how long will I be in hospital? I'm 36 years old.

    Hi Vicky,

    I had a total abdominal hysterectomy last June and I went in Monday morning at 7.30 am, had op about 9.30 am, back on ward for just after 11 am and having a cup of tea at about 11.15 am lol  I went home on Thursday at around 4 pm.  It's less if you have keyhole or vaginal hysterectomy though.  Good luck and don't worry, the waiting is the worst thing, the operation is a doddle compared to that smile

      Hi Janet,

      I am having a tah on April 7th and i have been told that it takes 6 weeks to recover.How long did it take you.I am confused as how much you can carry as i read so many articles with different amounts.
