HRT and sleep

Hi ladies has anyone experienced improved sleep with HRT? I'm taking the plunge and going on it tomorrow. My three main problems are hot flushes, insomnia and anxiety - but the insomnia is by far the worst symptom

Thanks everyone. I've started HRT today and have a small packet of diazepam to help me cope in the immediate few days. The doc put me on a low dose but stressed it's not the answer to everything (which made me pretty upset). I'm just hoping it will make me feel more normal!

I mean a couple of weeks!!! HRT certainly makes me feel a lot more in control of my moods and I sleep better too.

Let me know how you get on!

      Cheryl,

I am glad to hear you have decided to give it a try. I will tell you one surprise for me is that I my anxiety and low mood feelings in just under 2 wks is lessening. After suffering with those 2 with varying degrees of discomfort for last 3 years, this subtle change so far is a welcome relief. The improved sleep and lessening of the hot flashes is also very nice. I do hope this restores me to myself.  Be patient and if this type of HRT doesn't work, please try another. My doctor originally suggested trying the patch 3 years ago but I got so many side effects, I freaked out tore the patch off and went on a 3 yr quest trying everything else to feel better. Work with your doctor and I pray soon you will feel more like yourself as well.

That's really good to know ! My next challenge is to not put any more weight on now I'm on HRT than I already have! X
