just to update. job done today. appointments per sport massage to relax the joint at 9am
then at 2.45pm attended bupa hospital. first injection was a anaesthetic to numb the shoulder joint.
waited 5 mins. then he placed a needle directed in to the joint. studied the image then injected dye in to the joint. then more anaesthetic into the joint then a long term steroid.
then the finally it was like a cigar size tube of saline injection he told me it would be sore as it went in. you can feel the arm leaving the body in a good way.
no worse than a zinger we have.
it took 20 mins. i felt 3 pops and tears. job done. now at home post 3 hours.
HO MY GOD I HAVE ME ARM BACK BOTH ARE STRAIGHT AND I AM PAIN FREE.
please if you read this please look into this as its job done for me and i hope for you.

that's remarkable! good for you!!
My right shoulder got frozen last year, around October. On December the pain was getting worse by the day and it was unbearable, couldn't sleep but few weeks ago I started sleeping for 5 hours straight and the pain decreased but today the pain came back...so frustrating. Going back to my Dr. on Friday. I will definitely ask him about this procedure. Thanks for sharing!!

hi giuse
good luck on asking him lol. for my first hydro distension. bit of a ritual now. i had booked the procedure for late afternoon.
1st which i think is very important. go for a massage in the morning. loosen up them tight muscles in the shoulder. it really helps being relaxed. and really on the whole scheme of things. its not that painful. would have it again tomorrow if needed and i hate needles.
2nd i went to the docs after the massage for pain medication for when the anaestetic wore off. it does not hurt enough for pain medication. when i saw him i had to explain the procedure. the cheeky bugger googled it then and there. to understand it!!!. and he was
the doc in charge of the normal steroid jabs. in some
places its not very well known about
print it off the internet just in case
good luck and keep every one updated

Thank you for sharing this. My physio has recommended this. She also has several horror stories about MUA gone bad, will never consider MUA. Im in Canada.

wow fast. good afternoon there. good evening in london ( not part of Europe any more lol )
had a run in with a surgeon wednesday saying its not frozen. was more interested in sticking a camera in the joint and cutting. i fear that as with you horror. joint never the same again.
like you laying awake most of the night with a uber dull joint ache.
i did source doctor google and refined my regime to suit my job and time.
even though one evening at a hotel we was eating dinner and wife warned me not to streach and pull joint. i just needed to at that time. got so told off by her.
for me its a constant battle to keep one step in front of the problem and keep free motion.

Hi Colin
I've heard good things about the hydrodilation/hydrodistension although it is not universally accepted. Cutting (arthroscopic) is also apparently effective. But MUA is a different beast altogether, the risk is some idiot fracturing your arm. We had a sort of related story here where a physician did a routine ACL surgery and nicked the woman's artery in the process. There was neglect with follow-up and she ended having her leg amputated!

hi coldshoulder. yes cannot praise the hydrodistension enough i has cured lots of my ill's and woes. and given me back quite a lot of ROM with out the lightning bolts.
just need to keep on top of this. i have a surgeon calling at 4pm gmt to answer questions. will keep every one updated as normal.
doctors on friday for a AP1 xray and PT.
ho i just dont know how i fit living in with all this pain and trips to docs lol

hi christine
its the best ever relief possible. you go in like a semi cripple ( excuse the comparison ) but the pain is so bad we are very limited in life due to this.
straight away after the procedure the radiologist will make you clap above your head. it is that instant.
i would recommend a sport / normal massage on the shoulder to loosen the joint and relax the muscles ( for me it helped not going in all tight and defensive ) i had my sport massage 8am for 2pm procedure. carry on taking your pain relief. i was on 4000 mg per day ( codeine 20 . paracetamol 500 mix tablets 8 per day.
they put me in a gown. i laughed. how on earth do you tie the back up with a frozen shoulder.
they laid me at 45* on my bad shoulder each time ( now had both done). and placed a bean bag on the hand so you cannot move it . i really hate needles (fobia).
IT DOES NOT HURT on the whole scheme of things. i would have it this afternoon again if needed .
it is just un comftable. once numb first injection. its just weird. just when he puts the last vial in ( saline ) you can feel the pops and tearing feeling in a non painful way.
it just gets heavy and weird and you can feel the joint fill up and a bit achey.
thats it he just holds the injection site for a couple of mins.
the plaster gave me more of a rash the the puncture mark.
please rest it for a week . i have not and kind of buggered up my second shoulder. and do the exercises to stretch the joint.
i was fitting velux windows 4 days later ( 80kg). was kind of showing off.
i am back at the orthopedic surgeon thurday to see if i have to do it all over again. i have 90% movement back. in both shoulders.
5% pain in the origional shoulder. but 50% pain in the one from 17th jan.
please let me know how it goes and more important share this with us all. as we can learn from each other on how to deal with this torrid horrid problem

after physio i use sport taping. i have experimented different ways and found this combo eases that ache to a degree and does not impeed movement
for me i have to have a smooth arm and top bit . it was like being waxed first time lol. i learnt the hard way

and the bottom cross tape pinches that knagging ache at the bottom of the muscle mass at the top. it can be stretched under pressure to hug your arm in a good way
it helped me

hi christine
ho dear bad way. i kept a pain and general diary. me bicep lost 1 1/2". the physio that i have had done she mainly worked on the back . neck and shoulders. it was not to try and cure the condition. but to manage the muscle spasms.
my shoulder blades were like a railway track. i had massive knotts down each.
when the physio was going down with her elbows at one point she slipped and fell on to the bed .
have you tried physio on just the muscles as for me that was where the aches came from.
acupuncture also helped with the muscle pain
i called ramsey health care this morn to check on the appointment for thursday. i am going to try and get him to do both again at the same time .
will let you know.
it really dont hurt

hi christine
i have been to NHS physio 3 times. he had me doing push ups ( to build up me strength ) !!!. really what was all that about.
i have had to find a private sports injury clinic. lucky Gemma my physio is just starting out and i got a really good deal for blocks of 10. it just seemed a bit more positive attacking the spasms.
actually it was torture. i called her bed the rack. but felt fine for at least 3 to 4 days after.
then i started to get pinchy and tight again.
we were in london 2 weeks ago. the wife commented on how i held me shoulders tense while holding hands. ( aaarr bless lol).
i still find it hard to relax at any time as with nearly every one we are always guarded in any of our actions.
