Hypnotherapy and alternative therapies

Posted , 7 users are following.

After an absolutely horrendous night and an equally bad day I am contemplating hypnotherapy to help ease the pain. Anyone any thoughts on this or other alternative therapies.  The drugs I have tried to date have made matter worse.     Think I have got to the stage where  I will try almost anything that's legal!!

Have you thought about just downloading a good hypnotherapy relaxation tape app. I use them a lot and I can't say they do much for the pain, but they help a lot mentally . Mine cost me about £3 each and I wouldn't be without them. Much cheaper than a hypnotherapist( and yes I have been to 2 of those!)

      Thanks Lynda.

I have my first appointment tomorrow free of charge just to chat and find out a little bit about her methods and whether she and I both feel it will be beneficial.  I have everything crossed it will help. I am not expecting miracles just some pointers on accepting and coping with the everyday problems dear old fibro throws at us.  I feel somewhat abandoned by the NHS and left to find my own solutions.  We are so lucky to have this forum otherwise I would feel totally alone.   I will give the tapes a go.

Well had the appointment. Felt at ease with this therapist and she was sure she could help. Before I knew it we had been chatting for 1.5 hrs.  I am sure it was made more comfortable for me as she has a colleague with fibro so we were not starting from scratch. I felt so relaxed and positive when I came out.  Long may it last.  First proper appointment next week - watch this space!
